At some point in the story of the Knights of the Nine, this curse will be lifted. It's another matter if you passed all their tasks, and it still weighs, then there really is a problem.

Just the other day, the same task took place, this curse is removed when the prophet is already sending to battle with Umaril, this event is exactly after the consecration of the sword of the Crusader in the chapel of Talos. So I caught a very unpleasant bug and I must assume there are no saves until the events I mentioned.
