Of course. On a small map on hard difficulty, there were two extinct empires. Fanatical materialists have declared war several times to ban the development of artificial intelligence. But in the battles they lost a lot of the fleet and 150 years after the start of the game they were captured by another empire.
And 50 years later, there was an AI uprising. Fanatical Spiritualists once declared war on an empire that attempted to colonize a devastated world.
