Hah, brother, you can dance with happiness, I'll tell you what the problem is - When you gain too much loot (ala hike you have a cheating carry weight) the game starts to lag, because if you have a thousand items in your inventory, every time you pick up something new, the game recounts all your items in the inventory, because of this and the problem, I advise you to somehow put all the junk far away in a chest in a cave and forget about them forever.
