Which guns are better (Master of Orion (2016))

As in the second part, and in the new game - you can’t figure out which gun is better. If we are guided by the indicator "Average damage per second" in the ship design window, then I have no competition for the Gravitational Beam. And if you look at the information, the gravitational beam is well inferior to both the phasor and the molecular destroyer. How does this come out? Are these bugs of the alpha or my head?
PS I measure the numbers by thrusting a different number of guns into the same volume of the ship, of course.

As always, as elsewhere - each weapon has its own scope. There can be no universal uberwaffe, each barrel has its own goal!

Not as always and not as everywhere. In MOO, there is only one inverse proportion: the strength of the cannon and its high cost / difficulty. Strength can be calculated conventionally in the form of damage per unit of occupied volume. We will omit the high cost for now. All sorts of modifiers too. In moo2, everything was simple: the later a gun appears in research, the cooler it is. Basically. Some of them beat on the shields, some passed through them - not about that yet. When Death ray appeared - everything, you could forget about the others.

The fact is that in the current game the description for a graviton cannon is: volume 12, damage 13. The molecular destroyer has a volume of 30, damage 90. Roughly speaking, the first has 1 damage per unit of weight, the second has 3. And when I score the whole hold with gravitons, then the DPS according to the numbers comes out one and a half times more than if I hammered it with molecules. Here's a question, how is it: I don't understand the mechanics or is it just so damp?

mius The
accuracy and efficiency of the cannons should still be, you can see it after simulating the battle, plus you also need to understand that with a circular arrangement of the cannons, the dps is divided by 4, since you have 4 different sides, zero sense and why you need it.

Well, let 's omit that this is not even a beta, but quite an alpha. What about the effective range? And what about the real effective damage? It is not necessary to measure the numbers in the windows, but the cumulative damage caused by a specific type of weapon for the same purposes

The missiles are very long-range and are fired by the whole pack. And the lasers hit close and the volley is long. And all sorts of interceptors and fighters are generally dubious weapons, tk. fly for a long time and damage weakly.

Here! This already looks like the truth. Just the opposite, I guess. Graviton is just circular by default. And the other specified guns are initially aimed forward. Apparently, their DPS is divisible by 4. Then the numbers just converge. Yes, they were wise in the formulas.

Crap that's all ... if it mattered in the original. the battles were step-by-step - here I stupidly riveted the ropes and carried them all out.
With auto-upgrades, especially after capturing Orion technologies, a class 12 destroyer takes out 4 destroyers and 15 class 3 corvettes.
The fighting here is the poorest part.
