From my own experience, I will say that at one time, everything that I managed to collect in Velen / Novigrad, I completely shot at Skellig with sirens and echidnas while I was sailing for smuggling. XD

I have all the ammunition in my chest, I take it a little bit and spend it, it is better to shoot a couple of times and forget than to shoot 10 times with fake bolts. This is only my opinion.
