No antivirus needed!

I have been dealing with a computer for more than 8 years. With the Internet for 4 years. During all this time, I had an antivirus only for the first year. The rest of the time I do without this useless "gadget". Once every six months I reinstall Windows, and since my hard drive is broken, I don't have to reinstall everything, well, except for a few programs. So throw all antiviruses into the trash and don't bother with these problems.

imagine how many viruses you have on your computer

mdaa))) in our time without a licensed Casper, as without hands !!! He reinstalls Windu every six months, oh, he made fun of it, but as I put the seven x64 four years ago, I don't touch it, and everything is clear!)))

Antivirus catches 100% of viruses known to him and 0% of unknown ones. This is confirmed by all virus epidemics with Trojans ransomware, Winlocks, etc.

Against unknown can be protected by proactive, MBR write protection and other things.

mdaa))) in our time without a licensed Casper, as without hands !!!

And I know many people who do not have Casper, and the virus does not bother. And what is the connection between the installed Casper and the number of viruses on the computer that bothers you?

And there are a lot of computers, where there is antivirus, and the virus worries. Go to any computer forum in the section "Fighting viruses", "Help for treatment", etc.

Against unknown can be protected by proactive, MBR write protection and other things.

Well, let's say the proactive writes "The process is trying to get low-level access to the disk" - VITYA_KOLYADENKO, how do you know - is it an MBR Winlock trying to get through, or is this program harmless? Here we can assume, but we cannot say for sure.

If there is a winlock and you allowed it - no luck
If there is no winlock and it is forbidden - lucky

If there is no winlock and allowed it - lucky
If there is no winlock, banned and the program stopped working - it is lucky that there is no winlock, but the program stopped working, that is, no luck.

It depends on what program. Keygen and the trainer do not need to poke around in the MBR, any attempts should be regarded as unauthorized access.

Ikarus steals detections from kaspersky, other antiviruses on virusotal also steal wrong verdicts from each other "" Thieves of antivirus detection. Who are they? http://www.anti-malware.ru/forum/index.php?showtopic=24658 ""

Indeed, why do we need an antivirus? She skips new threats, swears at harmless cracks, and when the antivirus swears and the program is added to the exceptions or the antivirus is turned off - why then the antivirus is installed ... if the antivirus writes "threat" and you do not believe the antivirus and believe that it is not a threat ...

V
VITYA_KOLYADENKO 11.03.21

If you are too lazy to install a real antivirus, then you need to get started:
1) download AVZ and install MBAM.
2) scan the program installer with both utilities;
2.1) if there is a detection - decide for yourself :);
2.2) if in the detection of at least one Trojan.AVKiller antivirus you may have average problems (much less than reinstalling Windows), if Trojan.HDDKill - big problems (data recovery, but maybe without reinstalling Windows).
3) run the installer;
3.1) it does 1 of 2:
a) suggests where to install;
b) he sets himself what he wants and where he wants :).
4) scan MBAM - installation folder and processes / registry;
4.1) if item "b" came out in paragraph 3.1, then scan the folder c: windows system32 or any other that you like. I can offer a large list of folders where viruses, Trojans or all sorts of fake ICs are placed.
5) if in clause 4 (4.1) you did not find anything, or you guess that you did not find everything, then scan the same AVZ with the "processes" and "heuristics" checkboxes enabled;
5.1) if something is found - scan also those folders where something was found.
6) Repeat steps 4 and 5 for MBAM if AVZ finds something in another folder that it has not scanned yet.

PS In particular, to point 5, I recommend looking at the appdata roaming folder in the user folder and adding folders to the scan according to the following criteria:
a) program folders,
b) folders like microsoft , which, on the contrary, everyone should have.

PPS If you are not sure yet, you can:
7) scan the entire computer with both utilities;
7.1) apply the logic of point 6 - remember potentially dangerous folders.
8) Download Dr.Web CureIt !, Avira (free) or Symantec (demo).
Smokes! - scan - "Processes" + "Rootkits" stored in point 7 of the folder.
9) Understand that point 8 could not be absolutely reliable and you need a full scan of your computer, or at least the C: drive.
10) Item 8 - the set of programs was chosen from the bulldozer.

Well, this is for those who are interested in whether there is a virus on their computer (which does not bother).

You can go directly to step 8 Download Dr.Web CureIt !, Avira (free) or Symantec (demo).
Why the rest of the items? AVZ only suspects that there may be a virus, but does not give an exact verdict.

If nothing bothers you - then you do not need to worry - is there a virus or not. What difference does it make or not - nothing bothers you!

Virusnyak can be in any folder! The path to the file is specified in the Registry keys responsible for startup. And the file can be anywhere!

The virus can also inject code into another process and terminate the work. For example, the e34567.exe process is injected into explorer.exe and the e34567.exe process exits. Now the explorer.exe process will perform destructive activity. And the strange process e34567.exe will not be visible in the task manager!

People believe that "I have installed a cool antivirus and I am not threatened with a virus" until a virus comes across that bypasses the antivirus.

Of course, it is more convenient with an antivirus - no need to download any utilities, upload them to virusotal. There is an antivirus, it will scan everything right away, if it can, it will immediately cure it.

At Kurit! - scan of the whole computer. He has a good scan of the registry (including files in the Service section). But here's a setup - not any key in the HKEY_CURRENT_USER Software
Microsoft Windows CurrentVersion Run section gives a scan. So - either a full scan of the computer, or analysis of prog like HiJack!

A virus can also inject code into another process and terminate.
Process infection can also be detected, but of course it is not millions of signatures.

ZY 1. Plus AVZ - it can delete a file (either by a script or from the menu) even if there is no detection for it. She may suspect, or may speak specifically (in this case, automatic cleaning works, including the registry).
ZY 2. What antivirus do you have?
ZY 3. I wasn't worried until the computer started trying to send spam. Then the antivirus found 139 infected files and did not find at least 1 more (although more likely 5). Of these 5 files, 4 appeared in the system just a week before the installation of the antivirus. It is likely that all 5 files are linked to each other, and those 4 still have no detection (probably); I will not say when I checked it - maybe just 3 years after installing the antivirus.

V
VITYA_KOLYADENKO 11.03.21

ZY Of course, there are many simplest ways that only a stationary antivirus or a scan of the entire computer can protect against. With a high probability, if the virus / Trojan is not a couple of days old, then something really dangerous will be in the CureIt databases! (I won't say about the case of Win XP x32, and Win XP Professional x64 Edition is probably not widespread in the world at all). Also look for the registry key in the Wow6432Node branch.

the antivirus is really not very necessary,
he needs periodically for the sake of pitch prevention,
but he somehow started kicking and mangling a collection of cracks and cheats about which I was fluffed. I had to restore them from backup more than 400 files and if the computer itself is a backup? from CDs or what? I haven't done this for a long time.
Therefore, potsyki, antivirus is not needed for the gaming pitch. on pitch for internet maybe.

and 99% of users have "gaming pitch" and "pitch for the Internet" the same thing ...

D
Denis Nikonov 11.03.21

he needs periodically for the sake of pitch prevention

For this there are free utilities KVRT Curelt, etc.

Antivirus is needed in the following cases

1. If you believe him. When he writes "threat" and you believe it is a threat. And if you believe that this is not a threat, then why
do you need an antivirus .... 2. If you need technical support from an antivirus laboratory.
3. If you send files to a whirlab. Licensed users' requests are processed first and some virlabs provide an additional response from the virus analyst.

This is what antivirus companies need to raise more money. In reality, antiviruses do not protect. View the history of all virus outbreaks. Antiviruses did not protect them (I'm talking about signature and heuristic analysis).

In some cases, proactive protection protects against some Trojans. But only from a few.

Antivirus, by the way, can, on the contrary, dull the user's vigilance. "I have a cool kaspersky / node / doctor web, I can run whatever I want."

Those who believe that antivirus protects, believe until a virus comes across that bypasses the antivirus.

When a person says the phrase "antivirus protects" - in principle, he speaks correctly, he protects against threats known to him. But this phrase does not specify exactly what the antivirus protects from.

All your accounts will be stolen from you, then you will sing differently.
Or some pedophile will hack you and will use your address to seduce children, and the police will come to you to investigate, so you will prove to your cellmates that it was not you who seduced the children, but simply your computer was hacked and got access to your account in VC.

cool kaspersky / node / doctor web
Eset NOD32 - it detects certain groups of viruses. We are waiting for a new test for active infection. Now I will conduct a test for detecting 20 threats.
There are 2 threats left (a set for those who do not need an antivirus - they were not detected by MBAM). 1 of them detects AVZ (Backdoor), but the antivirus did not find a reaction to it. The second is that Avast, Avira, Symantec have detectors).

D
Denis Nikonov 11.03.21

All your accounts will be stolen from you, then you will sing differently.

So when the antivirus blocks something, the user will probably disable it and launch what he wants to start. Here in the next topic, a friend asked "why does Avast swear at files?" Yes, and with antivirus, they can also steal all accounts if there is no trojan in the databases. And what a crack / trainer / patch and any program actually does (does, does not show) - you can only find out with the help of special programs.

The crack / trainer / patch has visible windows, and there are invisible ones (like any process). For example, in AVZ in the process manager, you can see what windows the process has. What visible windows do is visible to the eye. And what the invisible are doing is not visible, of course.

Oh well, wow.! Why is it that our insidious e34567.exe suddenly self-inserts itself into explorer.exe?))) On MS WINDOWS 3.11 or what?

We teach the logic of system processes, kittens. Through the vulnerabilities of executable files, descriptions of which are available, and constant RW attributes on most files in the NT kernel, malicious code can be run both locally and remotely, at any time of the day or night, either accidentally or on purpose! A permanent root on Windows allows you to generate processes that are encrypted under something like SVCCV32.exe, intercepting the necessary addresses in the RAM memory OR MAKING ATTEMPTS to intercept these addresses with a bunch of options, which antiviruses fix. Not the point.

In short, the essence of virai is to intercept the addressing of bytes and replace them with the ones you need.
Viri, Trojans and Windows are like fur coats and a brood of moths. They will eat it anyway.
Guys, Windows is a star, believe me. The era of paid software is over! Switch to unix kernels, the choice of distributions is huge, for anyone everything has been compiled for a long time. At least for doctors, at least for deer hunters. I am not kidding. If not morons, you will master architecture in a year without problems. And all hemorrhoids with antiviruses will disappear in the same minute.

Don't be stupid.

B
BDRT 11.03.21

Antiviruses get in the way when installing pirated software, and they also always load the disk. Weirdness appeared - we run it through AVZ, profit. Don't be cerebral palsy who think that antivirus software will save them. Desu.

M
MunchkiN 616 11.03.21

Switch to unix kernels, the
same thing will happen. Well, maybe some kind of viruses that specifically for Windows will not be, but they are very difficult to catch. nor use torrents. nor use pirated programs. download free from sites. neither install on the computer nor understandable crap and you will hardly have any viruses. Well, at worst, you can look for such a firewall to find something secretly installed when viewing mail and visiting some pages. but it creates possibly even greater vulnerability.
And as for Unix machines, a large number of servers seem to be running on them, therefore there is interest for hackers and there is an interest in using the computing resources of Unix machines for attacks and explosions. and they have fewer whistles of fakes for imaginary espionage security.

Are you an information security expert? I'm not an expert either, but I understand something.
How is it implemented? Easily. Creates or modifies a thread in another process. The thread will do what the programmer told it to do. Read about "injecting into trusted processes" and articles on "Trojans-encryptors".

Trusted for Application Control (in kaspersky). Kaspersky here is purely for example.

We teach the logic of system processes, Kittens
Explorer.exe is not a system process.

You are right, but there is much less software there. And games too!

Viri, Trojans and Windows are like fur coats and a brood of moths. They will eat it anyway.

There are a lot of people who have Windows, but the virus did not gobble up.
