Missing mobs, skeletons and worms in the cave (Terraria)

I go to Terraria today and create a new character and a new world. I enter a new world and begin to climb caves and do not meet a single mob, skeleton, or even a worm. I stayed in the caves for about half an hour in real time and died from a fall. When I spawned again I decided to chop firewood and did not meet a single mob (mobs do not spawn in Bogryanets either). When I chopped wood I decided to build a house and noticed that night did not come (the house was built for about 20 minutes). What to do?

PS- I have a Steam version. I also tried to re-enter, reinstall both Steam and Terraria, but it did not help to check the integrity of the cache
