How do I assign a control button? (BioShock)

People, just started playing Bioshock and immediately a problem: raised the wrench with the "E" button, the inscription on the monitor
"(not assigned) wrench action". The character throws over himself, so lazily, this key and that's it. It does not react either to the mouse or to the keyboard. And they will have to fight. I went into the settings, there are only plasmids on the layout.
