Maybe, but I think that they just added to the card for the number, it seems in their descriptions says that they can't be colonize, like gas planets, etc.

The gas giant has a station for the extraction of gas, this was in the game mentioned, so that it may be Locke with a station on which you land. Of course the station is located at a certain height, and not the surface, so that would be unnecessary thoughts was not.

You probably didn't know, but all the gas giants have in the center of the solid surface, it is much smaller than the area of the gas itself.
