Graphics and performance question (Doom Eternal)

Hello everyone. The game eats 7 + GB of video memory on full settings, which the same gtx 1070 copes with, but for example, take the same rtx 2060 with its 6GB, after all, you cannot set a full graph, no matter what version of the vidyuhi is, it will rest against memory, yes, in principle in any game where you need more than 6GB, but my friend claims that it doesn't matter what you need more than 6GB, because the memory is faster, and it will just as well as 1070 with 8GB, is it that the faster the memory, the less the game eats it ?

No will consume less, but 2060 will show more fps than 1070

What then does memory speed affect?

It's just that when you run out of video memory, RAM comes into play, and that's not so much fun anymore.
Well, in some games on the Vulkan API, you cannot set the maximum settings to 2060.
In principle, even 2060s does not give out very much FPS in this game, and there is nothing to say about 1070.
Spoiler
2060 will be faster than 1070 due to its type of memory, where the game requires less than 6GB vram.

At 1070 60 fps stable

Well, if the monitor is 60 Hz, then you don't need it higher, but if, for example, 100 Hz, then be so kind as to issue 100 fps, 1070 will only be able to do this with lower settings.

doom eternal took place on a 1060 6 GB release. at the penultimate level of quality on full HD - the fps never fell below 75. there was a vertical. and the game took about 4.5-5 GB of memory, if my memory serves me right
