Lags in the Merchant Quarter (The Witcher)
The Witcher 1 lags in the merchant quarter, on a normal PC.Ryzen 5 1600
RAM 16 GB
Radeon rx 570
On such a computer, the Witcher 3 runs fine, but the first Witcher lags.

I do not know personally, I almost did not lag in the merchant quarter
Ely Maze
It seems to me personally that this is due to my video card, which reacts very badly to smoke in games, and something that looks like smoke (in absolutely any game, if there is smoke, the game will start lagging)

Another surprise awaits you in Burning Vizima:
And here is the Merchant Quarter:
Prots and RAM, drive that you have strength. The game is running on one CPU core
Denis Kyokushin
I've almost finished the game, and yes, in Staraya Vizima it also lags.
I did not quite understand the phrase: "Prots and RAM drive, that there are forces"
ProgR_Ivan2000
Well, you didn't write at what frequencies your CPU and RAM work
If the "computer is normal", then this does not mean that all games without exception will fly. The game is old, on an ancient engine. The developers could not have known that in 15 years there will be such capacities.
The first Witcher, if anything, more than one core can not use. And the game itself is 32-bit, so it doesn't care about 16 GB of RAM.
Wonders. It seems that some modern processes have worse performance per core than 15 years ago. I did not lag anything on the dual-core Atlon or on the Deshman ficus 4300.

Because that's not the point. The old engine does not know how to properly "communicate" with new processors, hence the problems

Because I reduced the visibility range. And I also ran it on Athlon 64 x2, the game was jerky at the default settings in the first location
