Character stats and skills (Mount Blade)

The creation of a character in Mount & Blade consists of three stages: the generation of the backstory, the distribution of characteristics and the creation of a portrait of the protagonist. As in many other games with similar systems, in the last two stages everything is simple and easily accessible. In addition, you can learn more about the characteristics of the main character in §1.1 Characteristics. Let us dwell only on the first stage.

Starting with version 0.950, the game has an advanced character generation system. It consists of four screens, on each of which one of several options must be selected in turn, and affects the starting characteristics of the character. At each stage, you can make one choice from several available options.

Here are the characteristics, skills and abilities of the character you create in the game Mount and Blade. In some versions, mods and localization of the game, the names of skills and characteristics may differ from those given here, but their meaning and location in the character window remains unchanged. We will definitely answer your questions regarding the characteristics, skills, abilities and any other indicators of "vital activity" of your Persian. Ask questions.

Grigvg [Gregor] 09.05.21

Let's look in the window of your Persian har-k.
Let's start at the top (for really "green" ones!):
- at the top of the window, enter the name of your character.
- your current level is shown below.
- next shows the state of health of your Persian, where the first number is the current health indicator, the second is the maximum.
- experience, the number of experience units affects your level, as the experience increases, the level of your character also increases.
- "to the next level" - I think there is no need to explain.
Below are three separate boxes: "Characteristics", "Skills" and "Abilities". As the level rises, it becomes possible to improve the characteristics of the character. There are four types of characteristics: "Strength", "Agility", "Intelligence", "Charisma". Each of these characteristics affects a certain skill, and the "Weapon Mastery" skill directly affects your skills.
Before we go to the characteristics: -
Strength makes it possible to increase the skills "Iron Skin", "Powerful Blow", "Powerful Throw", "Powerful Shot". Also, pumping this character is necessary to use some types of weapons.
- agility makes it possible to increase the skills "Weapon Mastery", "Shield Mastery", "Athletics", "Horse Riding", "Horse Archery", "Trophy Collecting". The same is required for the use of certain types of weapons. It also gives 5 points of skill per point and the speed of weapon possession increases by 0.5%.
- intelligence affects the skills "Training", "Tracking", "Tactics", "Finding the way", "Vigilance", "Packaging", "Dressing wounds", "Surgery", "First aid", "Engineering", "Persuasion" ". One item to increase this character gives another additional item in the skills menu.
- charisma directly affects the skills of "Keeping prisoners", "
These characteristics can also be increased by reading books (menu on the global map: Camp-Take action-Select a book to read), which will have to be bought from the bookseller in the tavern of the city.
Let's describe the skills:
-Iron skin increases your health by two points.
-Powerful blow increases the damage you deal to the enemy with melee weapons by 8%.
- Powerful Throw increases the damage you deal to the enemy with a throwing weapon by 10%.
- powerful shot allows the character to use powerful bows. With each new level of this skill (maximum - 4 plus the parameter of a powerful shot near the bow itself), the damage inflicted by the bow increases by 14 %%.
- possession of weapons allows you to increase the limit of the development of the hero's combat skills in the window of your character. Skill points earned in battle are added regardless of whether you have reached the limit for this type of skill or not.
- possession of a shield reduces the damage done to the shield (by 8% with each new level), increases the speed of the shield and its coverage area (personal skill).
- athletics increases the speed of running (not on a horse, but on foot!) directly on the battlefield. The skill is fundamentally necessary for people who prefer a foot character in battle. The opinion was also expressed that the weight of the armor affects the running speed, i.e. those who prefer heavy armor and it is also desirable to pump this skill. Although it is not exactly clear about this, can anyone clarify below.
- riding the higher this skill, the steeper the horse you can use + increases the speed and maneuverability of your horse.
- horse archery is responsible for the accuracy and damage inflicted by a horse archer (your Persian). When you pump this skill, the rizki of the sight during a horse ride diverges less to the sides, which allows you to aim more accurately, and the arrows fly more closely. The official explanation for this skill states that it helps horse archers fall out of the saddle less. On this occasion, who knows, please speak below.
- collecting trophies, with each level of this skill, the number of trophies after the battle will increase by 10%, which means that when pumping this skill there are more chances to get some valuable item. After the battle, as a trophy, you can only get those things that were "on" or "from" your opponents.
- training allows you to train your companions (whose skills are worse than yours), i.e. Regardless of participation or non-participation in battles, your companions once a day receive an additional certain amount of experience, which allows you to improve your units in a fairly short time.
- tracking, with each level of this skill, tracking becomes more informative, i.e. Having developed this skill, you will be able to follow the traces - arrows left on the ground, on the global map, determine the direction of movement of any troops, their approximate number and the time when this unit was at a given point on the map. In short, the skill allows you to get the necessary information about it from the trail left by the army.
- tactics, skill required during the battle, because with its development, the player gains some advantage in the number of troops deployed in battle against his opponent.
- the search for a path increases with each level the movement speed of the unit on the global map by 3%. Also, the speed of movement on the global map is affected by the morale of the squad, the presence of pack horses in the list of inventory (property), the number of equestrian units in the squad.
- vigilance increases the radius of your view on the global map.
- packing increases the capacity of your inventory by six slots for each level of this skill.
- dressing wounds is an absolutely indispensable skill, because increases with each point the speed of "recovery" of your squad by 20%. Here, I think, everything is clear.
- surgery, another "medical" skill, giving with each new level a 4% chance for your units to survive after being fatally wounded.
- first aid - please, who knows, describe this skill in more detail. I'm afraid to be mistaken, but as far as I understand, after the battle, depending on his pumping to the wounded hero and the inscriptions, he adds five percent of his health for each level of pumping this skill. Those. with the development of let's say "5" of this skill, wounded heroes and NPCs will appear in the squad after the battle with 25% health.
- engineering helps to build stairs and towers faster during a siege, and also reduces the time and cost of building buildings in cities, castles and villages.
- persuasion - a skill that allows you to more successfully recruit recruits from prisoners to your squad, more successfully complete the debt repayment quest from the lords, order the allied lords to follow you and many other parameters in the game. Hopefully someone will describe in more detail.
- content of prisoners - the skill increases the number of prisoners, which you can hire by five people with each new level, and, accordingly, sell a larger number of prisoners in the tavern and cut the profit.
- Leadership is one of the most needed skills. The number of soldiers in your squad depends on it. With each new step in the development of this skill, you can hire five more people. Also, with the development of this skill, the morale of the detachment increases, and the payment of the army's salary decreases by 5%. Also, the number of the squad is influenced by fame (every 25 points of fame give the addition of one place in the squad), as well as the development of the characteristic "Charisma" gives one place in the squad.
- trade - reduces trade margins when buying and selling things by 5% with each item, which will give you the opportunity to buy cheaper and sell more expensive.
Also, skills are divided into general (skills of the entire squad) and personal (directly yours). Squad skills affect the entire squad as a whole, and personal abilities are the prerogative of your character. When pumping your hero, pay attention to this.

I ask the game masters to supplement this information and, if possible, describe such indicators as: fame, respect (or honor), etc., if something, do not scold me strongly if you made a mistake somewhere! :)

G
Grigvg [Gregor] 09.05.21

Consider such parameters of the GG as: respect (aka "honor", aka "honor"), fame, the morale of the detachment, the size of the detachment.

Respect (honor, honor):
- the attitude of the lords towards you depends on the number of points of respect (honor) (and not only on personal relations with you). The higher your parameter of respect (honor), the more "honest" friends-lords you will have, with whom you may have never even contacted and, accordingly, there will be more enemies - "dishonest" lords. And friends-lords are often necessary (when choosing a marshal with your candidacy, if you wish, equip a campaign against the enemy).

Fame:
- affects the size of the squad (every 25 points of fame add one place in your squad).
- affects the possibility of offering citizenship (if you are well-known, you will be offered to become a vassal of one of the kings, and if you are well-known, there will be no end to such offers, provided that you do not belong to one of the factions).
- Possibly affects the choice of the king, whether to give you the captured village or not.

The fighting spirit of the order:
- types of food (the more you kinds of food, but not the number of the same type, the higher the morale of your team.
- the number of your party.
- wins (the best way to raise the morale of the squad - to fight and most importantly - to win).
- some quests affect (or rather their fulfillment or non-fulfillment, in short, always act humanely;)).

Squad size:
- the skill of charisma (each level of this characteristic of the GG gives an additional 1 place in the squad).
- leadership (each level of this skill gives, if I'm not mistaken, 5 additional places in the squad).
- fame (every 25 points of fame give 1 additional place in the squad).

So everything is interconnected with each other and it is better to behave "like a gentleman", like a chivalrous "and do not forget about your devoted warriors!;)

PS: Please supplement and correct me (if something is wrong).

+10 Excellent material

I noticed that respect and fame helps directly in battles!

With high respect, bandits and robbers flee, even if there are more of them!
It seems like trading too ..

G
Grigvg [Gregor] 09.05.21

By the way, fame may also affect the runaway of the bandits. There is a big dream for the developers to answer themselves and describe the skills and characteristics and what influences what. It seems to me that we do not know much ...

SVAEIG 09.05.21

In my opinion, these parameters are unfinished, you can go without them perfectly.

I noticed that when you select "University student" on the start menu of the Persian story, there will be a book on logic in your inventory.

G
Grigvg [Gregor] 09.05.21

I would like to distinguish between two types of "respect" that take place in the game and which are often confused.
1) Respect (honor) - an indicator of the protagonist, which increases with the commission of "noble" deeds. For example: refusing money for quests, refusing to capture an enemy lord after a battle, protecting the honor of one of the ladies of Calradia. This indicator affects relations with other lords in a global sense. That is, with an increase in this parameter, friends-lords begin to appear without direct interaction with them. But along with friends, enemies will appear.
2) The second parameter "respect" is the direct attitude of a particular lord towards you. You can see how this or that lord treats you in the dialog box when communicating with him. You just need to move the mouse cursor over the animated portrait while talking with the lord. I think it is not necessary to describe what this parameter affects. And it's so clear. Separately, it should be noted that relations with faction kings affect relations with the faction as a whole. If you want to quickly improve relations with the faction, complete the king's quests and help the lords of this faction in battles.

If Dzheremuk has surgery 5, Alain 2. Does the effect increase or less is nullified?

S
SVAEIG 09.05.21

In theory, they should work together, but no more than 10. But in practice, one doctor with honey. skills, for example, 6-7 are much more valuable than several satellites with medical skills in the amount of 10. So it is better to download narrow specialists in their field from satellites.

Doesn't add up and shouldn't! You can recruit at least a hundred nurses to the hospital, but they will not replace one neurosurgeon!))
Shl. Only the effects of training add up, and even then only quantitatively, but not in quality. Everyone will add their portion of the experience to the younger ones.
