Back on horse without turning the horse itself (Red Dead Redemption 2)

Honestly, I don't know about you, but I discovered America.
I played the game several times, and all the time I regretted that it was impossible to walk backwards on a horse. And then I discovered that it is possible !!
Not sure if this is a bug or not, the bottom line is that when the horse is standing still, press the brake button twice and then hold it.
I play on PS4, I don't know if it's possible on PC.
