Switching the game from DX12 to DX11 (Outriders)

How to enable Directx 11 and get rid of micro-jams. To get an answer to the question - read on.

Okay, the first step here won't work for those playing Outriders on PC via the Epic Games Store, but the second step will do. This is a trick that people recommend to themselves, but it kind of doesn't work; at least this first bit. However, those of you with crashing issues will want to upgrade to DX11.

If you are using Steam, you can try to force-install DirectX 11 by right-clicking Outriders in your library and choosing Properties. The first tab you open - General - will have Launch Options at the bottom. Enter "-force -dx11" to tell Outriders to run in DirectX 11. The thing is, it doesn't always work.

Instead, open the Outriders installation folder on your PC (Steam folder> steamapps> common> Outriders or Epic Library> Outriders). You should be "UE4CommandLine.txt". Open this file and paste "-force -dx11" at the bottom. Save the file and open Outriders using the executable in the folder! This is critical, otherwise this method will not work. The executable file is "outriders-win64-shipping.exe".

Be aware that in DirectX 11 you won't have DLSS access (assuming you're using an RTX card) and that overall frame rates will be lower. But hey, if it gets rid of the micro-stutters, micro-freezes, and glitches that hinder Outriders' performance on your PC, then this is a win.

And that's all there is to know about how to enable Directx 11 in Outriders.

Nonsense, there is support for dx11 there and in this game it is implemented perfectly

On AMD cards, the game is more stable with dx12, on dx11 the average fps is higher, less RAM is needed, but a little more often the toy is stater, although it may also depend on the processor.

Here is a recording from dx11
