Impressions from the full game (Devotion)
The theme for impressions of the full game. What can you say about the game?
Taiwanese horror game from independent developer Red Candle Games.
The 80-ies. Taiwan. The game tells about a once successful screenwriter, who suddenly finds himself in this surreal nightmare. What's going on? Where did the wife, whose voice just came out of the kitchen? And where is your daughter, Men shun? All of these questions, the player with the protagonist and must find the answers.
Devotion is horror with emphasis on atmosphere, not the screamers. In the game little locations. The main is our apartment. In it, various "temporary" incarnation, we spend most of the playing time: looking around the apartment, solving simple tasks in the face of "something mystical"...
In addition to competent approach to heighten horrornot atmosphere, the advantages definitely should include the setting of the game. All of the Taiwanese psychological Thriller with an emphasis on local religious and folk themes – beast rare.
Unfortunately, the last third of the already small game, in my opinion, is visibly losing quality. Then we suddenly (albeit briefly) forced to do the legwork on similar corridors in the worst traditions budget indie-horror games, then throw in poorly executed "spiritual dimension"... the Benefit of itself, the ending was memorable.
The graphics are cute, sound complaints either. Overall, Devotion turned out pretty good horror. If you love Asian horror and nezaezzhennaya setting, the Devotion has every chance to be to your taste.
