About the poems that Alt reads in Mikoshi before the finale. Educational program (Cyberpunk 2077)

Most Russian speakers did not attach importance to the complex speeches of Alt on the Mikoshi Bridge. Many perceived this as simply the author's nonsense of the SDPR in order to further confuse the player.

But the situation here is not so simple. Everything is aggravated by the localization, which literally threw in the translation of these lines.

But the poems that Alt presents to us are already difficult for a native speaker to comprehend. There are many adaptations in Russian. And in each of them the authors tried to express the meaning of the lines in their own words. To convey not the words of the poet, but their meaning.
For these works, it is generally accepted that the reader himself must understand the meaning of what is written. Everyone should see their own.

So, Alt shares with us lines from two pieces. In different endings.

This:

"Voyage to Byzantium" by WB Yeats (1928)

the last verse of which we hear in the ending of the Legend with the Beast.

Spoiler Original:

Once out of nature I shall never take
My bodily form from any natural thing,
But such a form as Grecian goldsmiths make
Of hammered gold and gold enamelling
To keep a drowsy Emperor awake;
Or set upon a golden bough to sing
To lords and ladies of Byzantium
Of what is past, or passing, or to come

A more accurate translation:

Unincarnate, I will never
take the Body form from the creation of nature,
But I will take the form like a Hellenic jeweler worked
From hammered gold and gold enamel,
What would the weary Emperor keep awake
Or sit on a gilded branch to sing
To all gentlemen and ladies of Byzantium
About what was, what is passing or what is coming.


And also

"Song of Love by J. Alfred Prufrock" TS Eliot (1911) is the

first verse we hear in the endings with Panam and the Secret.

Let us go then, you and I,
When the evening is spread out against the sky
Like a patient etherized upon a table;
Let us go, through certain half-deserted streets,
The muttering retreats
Of restless nights in one-night cheap hotels
And sawdust restaurants with oyster-shells:

More accurate translation:

It's time for you and me - let's go!
The evening fell on the heavenly eye,
Like a sluggish patient on a hospital table;
Let's go along the streets we are half-empty
To the opening of night
Cafes and unpretentious rooms,
Where rubbish and trash in the corners and smells of beer:
Through the streets that stretch like a dispute,
Through idle conversation Leading
us to a difficult question ...
Oh, do not try to guess!
Let's go so we don't waste time.

In the ending of The Devil, with Arasaka, Alt doesn't say anything.


Because These works give everyone their own meaning, then my IMHO (why they were chosen for their endings) is:

"Swimming ..." at the end of the Legend with the Beast about the fact that only art and deeds are immortal. Actually fits with the ending.

"Song ..." in the endings with Panam and Secretke about the course of life, which is not noticeable until it comes to an end. Whether this is good or bad, everyone must decide for himself. But to have time to give yourself an answer to this, before it's too late. As I understand it, on the one hand, V takes the course of life and with the same rejection Panam goes into battle. On the other hand, V realizes that life will end sooner or later (or rather early) and you have to go all-in, leave on your own terms, to the music, and go solo, so to speak, to have fun.

The absence of words Alt in the ending Devil (Arasaka) speaks for itself.
