Launching old PC games on modern PCs

For example, I tried to run Rebel Assault 2 - only DOS version works with stuttering sound under DosBox with brakes.
MDK-works incl. and Direct 3D version, without a single glitch, textures are smoothed.

Who Launched Little Big Adventure, Bioforge, Battlezone?
