The company has confirmed that native versions of action RPGs for nextgen consoles are already in the works. Prior to that, both the publisher and the development studio Experiment 101 reported that they will start talking about updating the game for PS5 and Xbox Series only after the release. THQ Nordic did not elaborate on the details, but noted that in the case of the PS5, the game will likely support tactile feedback and adaptive triggers on the DualSense controller. On its website, the publisher emphasized that native versions for PS5 and Xbox Series will be released in the near future.
On May 20, 2021, it became known that Biomutant developers temporarily disabled 4K resolution on PS5 when playing in backward compatibility mode for technical reasons. The action will be upscaled from 1080p.
Biomutant will be released on PC, PS4 and Xbox One on May 25.

Biomutant is due to hit retail on June 25th. Despite this, at least a few copies of Biomutant hit the shelves a few days before the official release. How many there are is unclear, but at least one user managed to get their hands on one of them.
Reddit user Level_Headed_Gamer posted a photo of the box online and gave a short review of what he had already played. He called Biomutant a mixture between Jade Empire and Fable. The photo has raised several questions from other fans who are wondering if the game is worth taking when it hits stores next week.
One of the questions about the game related to the performance of Biomutant on PS4. Level_Headed_Gamer replied that in his opinion the performance is "solid 80%", adding that from time to time there are some problems with FPS when the intensity of events increases sharply:

If everything is clear with performance, then with cost it is a completely different matter. Another user asked Level_Headed_Gamer if it was worth buying a PS5 for performance. He replied that it was not worth the $ 700 that would likely be required to buy a new-gen console from out-of-pocket, but he noted that the performance is good enough for people to enjoy it on PS4 too. This response prompted one user to suggest that if this person is interested in the PS5 enough to shell out a few extra dollars, then they should wait until the PS5 bundle special promotion comes along.
Whether Biomutant is worth buying a PS5 depends on the individual user, but those who already want to see what kind of game it is will hardly have to wait long. Questions still remain about whether there is a Day 1 patch that could improve performance on PS4. While the developers have stated that they had problems launching the game on this platform, they have not confirmed if they are willing to fix them on release day.

Despite the fact that Biomutant has not yet officially released, the colorful open world has already triumphed with pre-orders far exceeding the publisher's expectations.
During a discussion on the latest financial report, executives from Embracer Group, the parent company that operates THQ Nordic and others, congratulated Experiment 101 developers, as Biomutant orders alone were far higher than executives expected.
In order to find out whether Biomutant will be an interesting and high-quality project, and how much the trust of users is justified, we will obviously have to wait for reviews from the specialized press.
Anyway, this is great news for such a small project, which in recent days has had to deal with a not very responsive community: a few days ago, the developers were criticized for deciding to block the PS5 version (backward compatibility) at 1080p / 60fps in terms of stability, while the Xbox Series X can easily support 4k.
This is clearly a temporary issue as Experiment 101 has already promised a post-launch update to remedy the situation, but PlayStation users have not taken it well, despite the fact that Biomutant's development team consists of only 20 people.
