Game Impression (Vaporum: Lockdown)
The original was a simplified clone of Legend of Grimrock, but with a great steampunk setting and a relatively good storyline. And now, it appears, the prequel. Which is exactly the same as in the last game, only with a couple of new enemies, a couple of new activities and a plot revolving around a girl-technician trying to escape from the station (it seems that the technician did not understand who she is from all these identical heroes from notes) before the hero of the last part arrives here.
Basically, there is no particular plot. We just collect the backing from the spare parts and float away, kicking the boss's ass along the way. The boss's story is not bad, everyone else is mostly walk-throughs. Unless the finale really pleased me, it fixes well the "unexpected" twist at the end of the original.
And it would seem that if they just repeated the last part it would already be nice. And in the first half it's really not bad as usual, but then the number of puzzles becomes just monstrous. You naturally get tired of them and you want it to finally end. The main thing is who the hell did this in this tower !? And after all, one could prescribe that this villain crap, but no.
In total, it was not possible to repeat the sensations from the first part, they crammed too many puzzles, did not do anything really new and interesting. Perhaps, before playing this part, you need to thoroughly forget the past and miss such games in general, and perhaps then it will go better. It didn't work for me.
If in the third part they do not make a qualitative step forward (that is, the scene of the action will not be a full-fledged steampunk city with forests, nature and open locations (see Legend of Grimrock 2, which, however, did not help that), then this will be a final failure.
