A "remake" of the Nintendo 64 game, Star Fox 64, which was ranked 45th on the Guinness World Records Gamer's Edition 2009 list of the best games in history.

The game takes place in the fictional star system Lylet, against which the mad scientist Andross is waging a war. Once he was banished to the gloomy planet Venom and now, according to the plot, he was going to bring his old enemies to their knees and subjugate all living things. At one time, a team of mercenaries Star Fox was commissioned by the federal planet Corneria to investigate the strange activity taking place on Venom, but was destroyed by Andross, thanks to the betrayal of one of its members - Pygma Dengar. Hare Peppy Hare managed to escape from captivity, and the leader of the fox team, James McCloud, never returned from Venom.
A few years later, a new Star Fox team is formed, headed by Fox McCloud, the son of James, which includes Peppy Hare, Falco Lombardi and Slippy Tode. The commander of the armed forces of Corneria, General Pepper, sends them to fight Andross. The battle with the Venom troops takes place in space and on the planets of the Lylet system. At times, the Star Fox team is helped by the dog Bill Gray, Fox's friend, and the cat, Catt Monroe, by Falco's old acquaintance. Eventually, after breaking through the armies of Andross and defeating his mercenaries represented by the rival Star Wolf team, Fox McCloud and his comrades reach Venom and defeat the scientist himself. Depending on the difficulty level, Andross is either completely destroyed or his death is simulated.

The player controls the spaceship Arwing, piloted by Fox McCloud. In some missions, the vehicle is a Landmaster land tank and a Blue Marine submarine. The structure of the levels is linear, the player continuously moves forward, being able to move within the screen to the left and right and up and down, fires back at enemies and picks up bonuses. In some boss fights and in battles with Star Wolf, the game mode changes: complete freedom of movement in a limited area of ​​space. Armor and laser cannon can be improved by selecting the appropriate bonuses.
Fox's comrades fly side by side during each mission, periodically falling into the player's field of vision. From time to time, they, being unable to break away from the enemy, ask for help, and if their pursuers are not brought down in time, the ships can receive critical damage and go for repairs, aboard the Great Fox flagship. In this case, they only return to battle through a mission. The presence of allies gives certain bonuses. So, Slippy Toad determines the level of vitality of bosses, Peppy Hare gives good advice for passing, and Falco Lombardi can open paths to levels of increased difficulty.
After completing many missions, there is a choice of the next level. Different paths of passage differ in the degree of difficulty. On most levels, there are additional tasks, the successful completion of which allows you to go on the most difficult missions. Ultimately, depending on the difficulty on which the last level was passed, the ending of the game depends: bad - on easy, good - on difficult.
In the course of the action, the player earns medals for completing additional tasks, saving allied vehicles and destroying enemies. Medals unlock a number of new options such as multiplayer ground and foot missions, Sound Test, and more. All medals will unlock the most difficult game mode - Expert Mode.
The game has a multiplayer mode for several players.
