Single player online games (Heroes of the Storm)
I have a question for game devs or just people who will understand what this is about. Gentlemen. Good day! I have played various online games (of any genre and on any platform / gadget). And not one of them currently has a mode for single players. Why, if an online game is a team game, then it immediately becomes a shortcut that it is also a group game? Why don't the game creators add a mode without first grouping, in addition to other modes where you can unite with any number of players? So that the battles take place on an equal footing: five random players against five random players. Answers in style: it is not profitable financially and others are not accepted, I can give hundreds of arguments for whom and for what reasons it is needed, starting from time zones / different languages in countries / work schedule due to which it is impossible to play primetime / streamers are solo players and what a solo streamer can show the audience playing in a random team against pre-prepared grouped primades, etc. etc. If you read the forums of any moba game (and not just a mob), we will see hundreds of posts (and these are thousands and tens of thousands of gamers, at least in the Russian Federation) that players are asking to create this mode. The introduction of this additional mode will make the matches balanced, which means that the excitement around the project will only grow and online, accordingly, will only increase. An attempt to introduce a single player mode was made only once in the project "Heroes of The Storm" but quickly enough and it was changed back. The failure was obvious - the developers changed the old one, and did not add a new one to the old one where you can join the games with any number of previously prepared ones. I consider it advisable to have such a mode in every game of any genre, the fact that it will not be rated will even be a plus, because initially moba games are designed for five people and further play in ranked mods. So the question is, what do you think if a new moba game came out with two modes, strictly for one (quick games) and strictly for five players united in advance (ranked games). The ability to communicate using a microphone in these modes is not needed, because there are tags on the map (ping) and also, players use third-party programs such as discord in (group battles). And if we talk not only about the Russian Federation, but also consider, for example, the region of Europe, then not every Swiss MUST speak English, just like not every Frenchman, Turks - there is nothing wrong with that, just logic. What do you think about the profitability of such a new moba game? We are now considering not WHAT IS GOOD AND WHAT GAME WILL BE IN GENERAL, although this is important, I agree, but in this matter I am interested in the relevance of creating a new moba game with just such two modes.
