New vs Old

Hello comrades! In connection with the upcoming DR in July, I want to look in the direction of a video card as a gift to myself - to my beloved.
I will change my favorite geforce gtx 680 4gb from Gygabite.

Today or tomorrow and June 10, 1080 and 1070 are released with an estimated price of 55k and 35k.
I would like to hear opinions and advice on how not to exchange an awl for soap, and at least save a little.
Does it make sense to take 1070? Or take 980 - 980ti if they drop in price?
Of course, it's a pity for the flagship.

1070 definitely makes sense to take, in overclocking it should be like 980ti or even bypass it, well, in the future it will definitely bypass it, thanks to Nvidia with its firewood, and 980ti will still not drop to a cost of 1070. Well, in general, it is worth waiting for tests, it's too early to talk about her now ...

I wouldn't really take top-level cards without 6-8 GB. so that 900 immediately flies off from minya.
and 680 is a microscopic map for my imagination now. Despite 4GB, it does not breathe higher than 1600x900,
then, according to the logic, it should have been changed a year ago to the previous generation,
so it is worth waiting for toy tests and on their basis and decide on the basis of needs.

Do not underestimate the 680, it does not lose so much to the 970 in performance, especially with 4GB The Witcher 3 runs at high 1920x1080 23-inch does not fall below 38-40

970 faster than 670 by 50-60%. 680 is faster than 670 on average by 10%. So count it.

I won't argue, you know better, but the point is that there is definitely no point in changing NOW 680 to 970.
Especially if you look far ahead)
