Ghostrunner
The developers of Ghostrunner presented a cinematic trailer for the action movie and at the same time released a temporary demo - you can try it on Steam until May 13. The novelty has several features: a cyberpunk setting, acrobatics in the style of Mirror's Edge, and one-hit kills. The latter applies not only to opponents, but also to the main character, therefore, it is necessary to act both carefully and aggressively. The game comes out this year on PS4, Xbox One and PC.
You run in a cyberpunk with a katana, a dismemberment included
An important nuance: the game is made by the Polish studio One More Level, known for niche projects like God's Trigger
I tested Demo. It is immediately worthwhile to understand that this will not be a game of 100 points and this is definitely not an AAA project. A straight-through linear action movie that will definitely occupy its niche. Of the pluses, a quite suitable picture, free rate, music in the background and the atmosphere of cyberpunk are felt. The last project of the studio was bought, but the hands have not yet reached it. I'll have to look.
The gameplay is already terribly clinging to the video, a kind of hotline Miami from the first person and in cyberpunk (for me 100% hit) - I take it at the start!
I also ran the demo, for some reason Superhot became the first association. A good mixture of well-known mechanics, although I still did not fully understand whether it is possible to reflect the shots as in the video.
I tried the demo, did not like the primitive controls, there is not enough sprint and doublejump and a body with a shadow for the protagonist.
For some reason, fps is also blocked at 60, and there is no FOV slider, 10 degrees would not prevent the review from being thrown.
I liked the visual, there is something to catch the eye.
unreal engine 4 plays as fast as possible. enrages that only one life.
RTX works poorly in terms of fps and the reflections themselves are terrible. but at startup 12 writes experimentally.

No, it didn't help, I put 240 and 120, the result is unchanged. And at 60 frames, the camera turns are not smooth enough, in contrast to 100+.
What's the funniest thing about the initial cinematics is there is no lock, there FPS for 1000+ goes away in places, it would be better to block it there at 60, instead of the gameplay itself.

released a patch for the demo, added an unlock fps and a slider for fov
Looks like they read the hamazhik developed by the dropouts.
I set 240 fps and fovchik 110, everything fell into place at once, on average 120-170 frames gives out, the visual is pleasant, the review is what you need, but the gameplay is crap, it would be better if they gave a couple of guns to the protagonist, and the sword is optional for close combat , and so that the enemies do not one-shot, then it could have turned out to be a completely suitable non-stop runner, I might even have bought it for a stock.
Spoiler
I watched the videos and the question arose, what does the theme do in shooters? As far as I understand, there is exclusively close combat on a katana.

For pre-ordering Ghostrunner, which developers should open soon, players will receive two exclusive katanas and a 20% discount.
There is not a game, but an Alpha in which you need to switch levels with your hands
There seems to be a pre-release version, in any case I will download it right now and buy it on release

Well, how is it? I suspect not too exciting and replayable, judging by the demo.
