Resolution (Full Screen Play) (Diablo 2)

People, I haven't played for a long time.

Now the laptop is HP 2016 on it windows 10. The game is running at a resolution of 800 * 600, but! there are black stripes on the sides, i.e. not full screen.

Is there an option to fix it?

Glide to help.
You google it. You download this shit, run the video test in the diabetes itself, there is a tick on the slide and go to tweak the settings.
Well, this is so in general terms ... Obsession knows the details of how to program this glide.

Satari, yes, that's an option.
We throw the files into the folder with the game, run VidTst.exe, at the end we select the mode, either 3dfx, or glide - something like that. and then click the file, there are settings, select an acceptable resolution and parameters like capture mouse. and in the properties of the d2 shortcut, in the "object" line, add -3dfx

Goodwin Emerald, oh, ya, ya! I know programming! ; D

Get used to playing in the window, there are a lot of advantages.

hmm, didn’t figure out the essence of the author’s question, just saw the keywords and write any offtopic

The stripes on the sides are placed by a widescreen monitor when it sees that the screen resolution is 4: 3. On normal monitors, this is configurable (you can choose from two options - put stripes or stretch the picture to a wide format), I don't know exactly how you do it. It is impossible to get an unstretched picture without stripes. If the laptop - it can still be configured somewhere in the monitor driver or video.

You can stretch in the window (programmatically, without the participation of monitor settings) using the -w -nofixaspect flags in the command line for starting the game (all sorts of "glides" as above are advised to have nothing to do with it) and expanding the window to full screen. But this will not be quite a full screen - part of it will be occupied by the window title, the taskbar and other unnecessary nonsense.

in short, stripes are ofc norms, because q2 is ofc norms. but you need to play in fullscreen! ; (

Just in case, let me remind you that the game does not support higher resolutions, including widescreen ones, so either stripes or stretching. There are amateur so-called. high-resolution patches, but their use is tantamount to using third-party software (cheats, that is), which is fraught with an account ban when playing on the network. In a single player game, nothing threatens, but in fairness it is worth noting that instead of improving the "sharpness" of the picture, all such modifications usually lead only to the contemplation of a microscopic character on huge flat landscapes, that is, it looks eye-opening.

I also visit from a laptop, there were also stripes ... I applied a glide microspray and I feel pretty dry and comfortable.
