The same problem - the character continues to run himself after the W key is no longer pressed.
Whatever I have done does not help.
1) Downloaded various "Movement Fix"
2) removed mouse and keyboard drivers
3) connected other mouse and keyboard
4) installed new video card drivers
5) set all settings in the game to minimum and disabled anti-aliasing.
6) changed the sensitivity of the joystick and mouse in the game, disabled aiming assistance.
