Departure near bonfires in any armor except the knight's set (Dark Souls 3)

The game often crashes when approaching a campfire or a couple of meters after appearing around a campfire, if the character is wearing any clothes other than knight's armor (the initial set of the knight class). Naked or in an incomplete set is still a departure.
A message appears: "Driver *** stopped responding and has been recovered." If you move away from the fire and change your armor, then everything is fine until the next fire.
