Problem with HR Pack (Duke Nukem 3D)

In general, yesterday I downloaded one Duke Nukem 3D assembly with a High Resolution Pack in the kit, but the problem is that this High Resolution Pack doesn't really want to work. In short, at first it slows down terribly and when you change the settings, it starts to glitch terribly. As a result, neither set up nor play normally.

Of course, there is the usual Duke Nukem 3D, but I wanted to go through with the High Resolution Pack, since I already went through the usual Duke.

In general, who faced such a problem, can you advise something? For example, maybe some settings are suitable or something else.
