Online component and beta version (Dark Souls)

I have a question here, I recently read in one wiki article that there are two "live" versions of the game: main and beta (created to transfer saves and achievements from GFWL) with the postscript [-dsptde-2.0-])
Actually the question itself, if select in the properties of the game - beta version, opt out .... then I will switch to the main version? And where is online higher in beta or basis?
