a little question about gamepads

in the ps4 and xbox1 controllers, as I understand it, rechargeable batteries are used .. if you buy an ordinary wireless joystick, with ordinary batteries .. should they die quickly and can they be charged?
ps: I bought a wireless one, stuck 2 AAA wards into it, they died a day later, and even the vibration was not turned on ... in other, not very power-consuming devices, the batteries work, but there are no more in the joystick (they also do not charge via yusb)
