Well, or endless quests from Preston Garvey like "general, rather a radroach attacked the settlement to help, rather we are suffering losses" although in fact there may be a bunch of turrets in the settlement. It's the same in similar games. In Skyrim, the head of the thieves' guild must steal himself personally, although he could sit in a violent flask and drive teas, distributing income and performing administrative and economic functions, and the head of the dark brotherhood must fulfill the contracts personally himself, etc. etc. Don't you think that the gazebo needs, well, I don’t know, to show variety more and not to overdo it with radiant quests? absolutely agree, there are a lot of good ideas in Fallout 4, only now they are implemented, unfortunately, through one place.
Take, for example, the same settlements, it would be much more logical to make it so that the GG would be engaged in the extraction of resources and the settlers, in turn, would already have established their own way of life. Why do I have to poke at each settler to equip him, why can't they take weapons and armor from the workshop, and supply lines, why this need to plant bushes with food in each settlement if there are supply lines? And this level of happiness, why is it needed ?, we are trying to survive here, what the fuck is happiness.

PS I forgot to mention the protection of settlements, this is generally insanity, why was it done if it all comes down to whether the GG is present in the settlement or not, you just have to not come and 5 skinny raiders with knives will smash everything to the ground, and in your presence they still die on the way from the turrets.

Well, what would the gameplay look like then? Sits such a GG on the throne, grit "Hey, slave! Come here. Go clean the subway from the ghouls." NPC goes to clean up. And GG sits on the throne. In my opinion, the "General of Army" mod will be appropriate here, which allows you to take an army with you. Then you can safely walk and drink tea while the army destroys the next bad creatures.

I have a mod hanging in NMM, but I haven't tested it yet. And I forgot what you can't do there, but look for laziness.

PS I found what you can't do - you can't recruit companions in this way, under the threat of losing them forever.
