I'm collecting an old-school computer by a specialist for GTA III (Grand Theft Auto 3)

In general, I'm interested in a computer with a single-core processor, on Windows 98, which can produce 30 fps in GTA3 without subsidence. Because it turned out that some gta3 chips, which work on old pieces of iron, do not work on a dual-core computer. Here on the 4th stump the chip works, but on the core 2 there is no duo. First of all, I mean that Dodo does not spawn when I mega-jump to it, as in this video:

and it is not destiny to lock the game under 1 core and 30 fps?

Get 30 frames without sagging - just enable the limiter and frame synchronization in the graphics settings, and there will be no bugs even on modern hardware.

locking under 1 core does not help. As far as I remember, on the characteristics that I wrote above, GTAIII was slowing me down, there were FPS drops. that's why I'm waiting for advice from specialists, what pieces of iron I need to buy so that the game runs without brakes. that is, the best single-core percent, vidyuha there and all that. Well, more precisely, the required minimum for 30 fps and the triggering of all the chips.
But on 4 single-core stumps, the spawn always worked.
Lowering FPS through the programs does not help either. put 29 and 25 fps.

Why spend money on old hardware to play a game that can be played on a mobile phone?) So an updated version was released on the PC.
Will you have a second computer separately for it? How stupid, uhs))

want to make a record-breaking speed in GTAIII, because I consider myself the best player in GTAIII and I have to do it to prove it. Yes, I will build the second computer, because the spawn does not work on the Core 2 Duo computer. And I really need this spawn in order to win a few minutes, reduce the time it takes to complete the game, in order to be in the first place in the list of speed passes.
Yes, there is a Steam PC version, but I have not found a pirate anywhere. and I'm not going to give 300 rubles to fat Gabe

And on the emulator (PCSX2) it is not destiny to go through, there are controls for the gamepad norms. Saving both time and money.

Then it's better on a virtual machine.

No, it is more difficult to play on the PS2 version, and the minimum transit time there will be different and longer than on the PC version. I want the PC version because it will be the minimum transit time of all versions, I hope.

how much speedrunning you cost?

Ferocity - to buy old parts in order to buy a computer for him not zapadlo, but 300 rubles in incentive for the game zapadlo (and on discounts and then 100 rubles).
Here people go.

KoranRazmus is aiming for
up to an hour, counting from the beginning of taking control of the player, and until turning off the control of the player in the last mission. 59 minutes would be fine for me. now the record is 1:05 for others.

Read again what I wrote. The Steam version is unlikely to help me, especially since changes have been made to it; some bugs are said to have stopped working. where is the guarantee that in the steam version the spawn will work, and bugs for skipping some missions will work? In addition, I already have an old computer, it just needs to be assembled. I don’t want to give the loot to Gabe in principle.
SiberianSpy55
No, there should be some differences anyway. I heard that some bugs do not work on the steam version + a bug with the colors of the wheelbarrows as an identification mark of the steam version, and this is a difference after all. In general, I want to find images of the very first version of GTAIII that came out on the PC, 1.0 which. There are discs from Buka, and there is 1.1 already. There is also a myth about the Japanese version of GTAIII on PC, released in 2003 and published there by Capcom.

If you want a fair record, then you need to do it only on a patched version of the game, without bugs and cheating, otherwise what a nafig record this is, it's hack !!! I remember how, in Resident Evil 5 Gold Edition, the Desperate Escape add-on took place on (difficulty level) Pro with a computer bot, this is really a brainwash and there was a lot of shit about this that this, in principle, cannot be done with a bot, that only with a competent partner, but I did it. And I did it honestly, and you try to go through the buggy version in less than an hour, and what will you prove to whom ???

any speedrun is fair, performed on any officially released version without cheats, with the proviso that the passage will be as if you had just installed the game and launched it. Bugs are not cheats, and are recognized by the entire world community as a permitted way to reduce time in high-speed passing games.

Have you tried speedrun on a regular PC version, maybe you could have improved your time like that?

I can't say anything about an old computer, but it almost certainly won't help. Each parked car has a ring such that if the player is in it, the game loads the model and creates the car. If the player approaches the spawn point faster than the model loads, then the car will not spawn either. With a mega-jump, it is possible that the player will fly this ring so that during his stay the game will not check his presence in it and will not spawn the car even if the model is loaded. In short, it depends little on the processor in my opinion. But if you want, you can experiment.

Checked - on a single-core Pentium 4, 2+ Ghz, the spawn is always triggered when approaching by a mega-jump (in the same sequence). Most likely, the game processes are better calculated by a single-core processor, tk. the game was written under a single-core percentage, taking it as a standard. Maybe not in the processor, but definitely in the hardware - the fact remains - the spawn always works on an old single-core computer.

It makes no sense to put a speedrun just for the sake of the 1st place badge. If you do a speedrun, then immediately set an unbeatable record, using all the possibilities at once, because it takes a lot of time to try a speedrun. That is, you need to prepare everything, and then set. Moreover, now everything is dark with the speedrun, tk. There is a chance that soon they will find ways to skip several mandatory employers, replacing cloning a clone through a bug with opening new employers, bypassing missions to open them. So there is no point in wasting time when soon the speedrun time will be 30 minutes.

It is logical, although you cannot be sure of invincibility, especially if, as you say, there are still prospects for finding bugs.

By the way, the Steam version is distributed as part of the Grand Theft Auto Franchise Pack, google if interested.

doubt that it will be possible to find something more cool after such a find. if there is, it’s quite a trifle. steeper than shifting the script reader along the main to the desired line - it's just better not to come up with it. I can even say that this is a worthy conclusion to the entire GTAIII history. Thanks for the tip.

Not at all. And as for the hardware - I have an old half-disassembled system unit with the 4th stump. It is, of course, single-core, but dual-thread (two virtual cores), I don't know if what you need works there.
