Laptop with 840M card and new drivers (The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt)
Hello, I have this problem. card 840M. I don't know what's wrong. The fact is that on drivers 344.75 everything is fine, but on newer drivers after version 344.75, the core frequency starts to decrease to 135Mzh! Example I play the Witcher 3, everything is fine at high 20 - 25 fps! Bam! reducing the core frequency to 135Mhz and everything in the game 5 fps is not realistic to play, etc. Such stupidity in all games including WoT. Of course, you can set the drava to 344.75 and not suffer .. But damn it, all the top games go very badly with them and sitting on old dravs is not an option ... Who knows what this problem is ?? computer Intel core i5 6GB RAM Nvidia GeForce 840M 2GB Win8.1. He has a friend who has a similar system, he is on new drivers and there is no such problem, although there are many people on the Internet who have such a problem with the 840M video card. What could be the problem? Bios? Wrong installation of firewood? it honestly looks like Unprecedented throttling that underestimates the performance of the video card. vidyaha heats up to max 68 well up to 70 degrees no more. Help people and tried everything, I'm not a stupid person in this rummage. But there is simply no way to solve the problem. :(juan sizu
Yes, just look here. 22 fps at maximum speed with low shadows and a small grass radius I think it's completely playable!

And in battle there will be drawdowns with effects. You need to get it up to at least 30. Decrease the resolution or lower the post-processing.

I have a glitch with the drvs .. The thing is with the 344.75 drvs I play well but they are old and this is a minus .. I put new drav. And in short, I’m testing this topic ... the temperature of the vtdyakh reaches 61 - 65, a reset occurs, the frequency drops to 135 Mhz
Givemethedust
as if when installing firewood, the temperature limit of the video card is violated
Run the game->(CTRL+ALT+DELETE)->system resource monitor and see what's there besides the game eating a lot of system resources.

If the driver doesn't support the card, it just won't install, junkie. Don't write what you don't know.

if the old ones work better, why do you need new ones?
Throttling cuts into the campaign. Put the old ones, my witcher heats the card godlessly. Although Unity at a load of 61 degrees max, it immediately reaches 67, although not always 99% load.
the problem seems to be in the drivers, since the temperature of the video card reaches from 61 - 65 and all the resets the core frequency drops to 135Mhz and that's it ... on old drivers there is no such thing .. somewhere the temperature limit is violated at which the video card torttles
