The CPU usage is at 100%
I have the old computer Athlon XP 1700+. Use it to run DOS-programs (installed Win.XP, but the DOS programs are run through the motherboard with AGP).Set it 2 the game (under Win.98 and ME) in 2000 and 2001 (on Intel with Win.7 x64 on the Intel Win.XP, these games do not run, but on Athlon XP 1700+ they work well). When you run these games CPU is loaded on 100%, even in the menu. Reduction settings in the game does not reduce CPU usage. The processor is not heated. The graphics card is loaded with 50%.
AMD Athlon XP 1700+: CPU=1,47 GHz.
Who dealt with such ancient computers, tell me what could be the problem.
I assume that you installed the driver on Athlon XP 1700+ does not give reliable information, because they are wrong
need to run Win XP in safe mode(this mode without drivers)
and use all the methods from the article
https://www.itshneg.com/check-model-motherboard/
there is another more time consuming option is to write in the search"motherboard VIA KT400-8235 and look for the pictures look like my if you find my pictures, throw off the link to the picture

Installed AIDA 32. Written - motherboard Epox EP-8K9A(I)
Found in the Internet, looked at the picture, sure it is.
for Epox EP-8K9A(I), found only here is, first set the driver for Chipset driver on the second page,
and then from the first page driver the sound and network card
https://driver.ru/?H=EP-8K9AI&By=EPoX
after each driver installation, reboot PC

After installing the driver on a chipset and the agreement to restart, the computer hangs, reboots, and VIA Huperion hangs in the process and not responding. When forced termination of a process, the computer rebooted and all remains as it was. I tried many times. Tolley driver is not that, roofing felts still that, is unclear.
try the driver on a chipset, can XP itself will take it
if after installing the drivers for sound or network card will stop responding, then try these drivers
https://driver.ru/?H=EP-8K9A&By=EPoX

Installed driver to sound. the map version is newer. A network card from a computer no, not worth it. I guess I have it removed. When you start the game all the same 100%. I tried to have the driver on a chipset, it hangs. Need to look for another driver.
And more interesting: in device Manager, in the row Processors is:
- before installing games stood AMD Athlon(tm) XP 1700+ (before overclocking)
- after installing the game and stood overclocking AMD Athlon(tm) XP
- now suddenly the computer rebooted itself and is AMD Athlon(tm) XP 1700+ , and acceleration is lost.
Run the game, and the same 100%.
Now look at AIDA 32 - Chipset of system Board VIA VT8377 Apollo KT400.
You may need to look for the driver on this chipset ?
vftor you probably do nothing.
On older processors it's fine, especially if connected to a 1080 monitor. So driver you'll be looking for a very long time until you get tired of watching this nonsense. ;)
what Aida32 says about the name of the motherboard ?
on Epox EP-8K9AI should stand network card! maybe the motherboard is different?

there RG45 connector

I just insured. At least percent and not heated, but when loaded 100% of anything can be bad.

In AIDA32 says that the network card no. In device Manager it either. I do all the extra footage.
And the motherboard is exactly.

Really, RJ45 network connector no. So my computer without a network card.
And everything else is the same.
here's the Assembly of the drivers on chipsets from VIA
writing this
VIA Hyperion Pro drivers are suitable for ANY VIA chipset - but they are particularly recommended for KT4## series

writing that the manufacturer has released these assemblies

Same thing, freezes. Can really, wrote comrade potter790, that's fine. What do you think ?
I think it is an iron problem or the motherboard is faulty(some sort of capacitor dried up), or problems with the CPU, and it happens, well, maybe a buggy RAM(how to check it mentioned using MemTest86)

Clearly, in General a severe case. Thank You for your participation. If this computer will die, I have a spare Athlon XP 2600+, which is now connected via S-Video to the TV Tuner on another computer on Win.XP (so you can make screens DOS). The picture is worse, DOS programs are rolled, but games will not go.
