Will 1080p games look ok on a 2-4k monitor?

I'm trying to google, but there are 100500 opinions in Google and there is no constructive anywhere.

I want to buy a 2-4k 27-inch monitor to work, but games will run there sometimes. And 2-4k is violence for the current iron. I had a hospital on the RTX 3070 and it didn’t export 2k everywhere, I’m already silent about 4k. In cyberpunk, you had to turn off the beams to get 60 fps on 2k. And this is in conjunction with the i7-10700k + 32 GB of memory at 4 GHz.

Therefore, in games I want to put folk 1080p. I tested the games on a native 27" monitor at 1080p and they play great there. The picture is normal. But the question is - if you buy a 2-4k 27-ku monitor and put 1080p there, will it be as clear as on a 1080p monitor or will it go into miserable soap? Has anyone had a similar experience?

There was a similar topic here recently, two options: reduce the overall quality of the graphics, look at the soap.

Depending on what is considered normal. I'm not satisfied with the downgrade to full hd, except in windowed mode to play. Now the monitor is 34 "3440x1440 (21:9). I play either in this resolution or 2560x1440 (2.5k), I turn all the settings to the maximum, there are practically no problems, usually above 60 fps. (PC: i7-9700, RTX 3070, 32 GB DDR4)
But it also depends on the game, Cyberpunk 2077 is clearly not the best example.

I have 4k monitors 32 inches. If you set the game to 1080p resolution, it will be soap like on PS4. In 2k it's quite normal already. I have a 2080 card and since 2019 I have been playing only in 4k HDR with a 30 fps lock in all games on the box pad. For me, 30 fps is the ideal fps, since I have been sitting on ps3 and ps4 for a long time and the eye no longer perceives.

"And the eye no longer perceives" Well, of course. Witness eyes at 24fps.

Can't play at 30 fps at all. This is hell for my eyes. I bought a console for the TV and it was the Xbox Series X to eliminate the terrible 30 fps for at least a couple of years. Once, by chance, the witcher launched in 30 fps mode, they almost called a doctor. But those who can tolerate 30 fps are clearly some kind of superhuman.

A 2K monitor has a fine resolution of 2048x1152. You can't see any soap in it and the detail is better than in 1080P and the vidyuha is not heavily involved, as in the native. I recommend myself.
Dealt with Viewsonic VP2770.

So this is 2k resolution, that is 2048×1080 ! That's just why 1440p is called 2k is nonsense, in fact it is 2.5k.

TV was dismantled, but the topic is different - there is a processor there. We have to admit that the 2560 looked good, the difference from 4k is small. But 1080P is bad. We need top percents for scaling. Monitors are generally sad.
You are with a 3070 card, it is enough for 2.5k. There is nothing to collect junk, take a normal 27D 2560x1440 monitor, it's already 2022, it's time to move on.

Take a 1440p monitor that is 2560x1440 and play on your 3070 60-100fps no problem! 4k is early, especially with RTX.

I have 27 4k. to be honest, soap is not soap from a distance of about an outstretched hand, it’s not very noticeable to me. 4K has more detail.
if you really need clarity in the nvidia image format settings, I saw the option for integer couples there. then soap fonts will turn into pixel fonts with games the same. In my opinion, full HD 27 is too large a pixel size if you sit close, especially so there is no need for anti-aliasing. fhaa type anti-aliasing and upscaling look unpleasant because of the blockiness of anti-aliasing - those ladders, on the contrary, return. but in some games it is not very noticeable. mssa I suppose it's normal, but I checked it on another matrix. I use 1080p desktop because it's small for me. 2k still could. and with these whole numbers - only for all sorts of ms paints so that a black square pixel can be clearly seen as on ordinary low-resolution monitors.
my opinion is that it is better to buy 4k so that it is if the choice is between black and white.

4k higher detail
This is only true in the latest games! All that is "older than 2017" the difference will be minimal, there is no exhaust from the purchase in games yet.
Movies have HDR and 4k, while games have the latest ultra textures for 4k.

Why don't you put 200% text size in the settings? Then the icons will be large as at 1080 and at the same time there will be a native 4k table.

On 2K or 4K, lower the resolution not in the game, but on the desktop! through the nvidia control panel, so that it becomes the original one and then there will be no soap in the games, I speak from my own experience! I have a full hd monitor in games, the picture on it is clear, and I just wanted to test for example a game in 2K and 4K, and so I go to the nvidia control panel, set 4K, then go into the game, set this resolution there, tested it and then again at 4K I put my native full hd and see the soap, then I already set full hd in the nvidia control panel, and again I go into the game and everything nicely disappears!

It's about games, not desktop. Re-read. What problems in general there or in programs can be. The question is the transition to a resolution of 2.5k / 1080P when switching IN GAMES from 4k (the card does not export 4k).
it was you who had to re-read what the person wrote about and what I answered it about. This chela has a problem with the fact that he uses 1080 on the desktop because it's small, I also have a monik 27 4k and I found a solution to the same problem for myself by setting 200% text size in the settings - now a comfortable table. My comment and TS had nothing to do with games.

if you want advice from life - take 1080p if you are satisfied with the pre-test screenings. I bought 4k 27 on my head for a flash and since then it's a suitcase without a handle. in two years I have gone from 1050ti-1080-1080ti-2080ti-3080, and luckily zero. Although I used to play at the minimum and was happy with 24 fps. And now I launch the game and start dancing with a tambourine so that the quality is at maximum and FPS is 60. I just checked rdr 2 and origin - changed from 4k to full - fps 150, and the picture seemed to be moved from ultra to low. That's happiness in ignorance.
And now grapho drocher. So don’t take at least 4k, but better 1080p - it will always be easy and simple to take 60 fps and you won’t need to look for a top-end card for an update.

This is an upscale using a video card, not everyone understands how it works)))
