Enemy Within is Satan's sop. (XCOM: Enemy Unknown)
I got a long-awaited addition to one of my favorite games on Steam. It seemed that I already knew everything about Enemy Within: I read about a dozen previews and even a couple of reviews. The addition was praised by everyone, calling it a rarity in our time. What do I have for 500 rubles (yes, 500, and to be honest 499) an absolutely insane balance of power (I played the original game on the Classic difficulty level twice, and I passed it successfully, without losses, confidently fighting the alien threat). I put up with a random that occasionally gave out nonsense like a point-blank attack aircraft or a sniper with a 95% chance of hitting, I put up with shelters that sometimes brazenly shoot through and aliens hit you (full shelters). In Enemy Within, wild randomness is squared, and even frankly on the side of the aliens. There is no other way I can explain what is happening. Starting from the second mission (training), I noticed one feature - decrepit sectoids constantly crit, but then real hell began. In fact, the whole gameplay of Enemy Within is that you walk, then the enemy, and at the same time, each of his shots is a "One Shot" for the soldier (the exception is the sectoid, they leave a couple of health blocks) I play on the classic difficulty level (for ideological reasons, After all, the original passed without serious difficulties) So. The enemy shoots, makes a "One Shot", the enemy does not care that you are in cover, albeit full, the fate of a soldier remains to fall from the first shot, the enemy sees you everywhere, he is able to kill through the whole map. On the contrary, my fighters smear always and everywhere, for the crit made by the fighter, I am ready to give him a medal. Stormtrooper, smearing point blank - this is the rule, not the exception. In order to kill the enemy, you have to pull up a whole squad to him and shoot at close range and it’s not a fact that they will kill him (since crits are extremely rare). There was no such savagery in the original. Commanders, what tactics do you use, how do you deal with cheat villains? Why the developer did this at all, this is what is called improved intelligence.skard
support - support, medic.
Jetpack - jetpack (armor "Archangel")
High ground - high position (roof, 2nd floor)
Overwatch - combat readiness.

thanks, then decipher this phrase: the best option is a support. It can always be successfully placed for a bonus to the entire squad.
+10 to the defense of nearby allies is
tempting, I'm going through the second time, I think now I'll cut the medic and assault into mechs. Although now I don’t know when I’ll sit down for Enemy Within - a crack was released for Shadowrun Returns.
The Shadowrun Returns card
is complete squalor. My disappointment knew no bounds when the game came out. You can still play it on a tablet or smart phone, but for a PC it's too weak. The game was made to make money from the fans. According to the idea of a mecha-heavy, it can be used to disrupt an overwatch, as an analogue of an assault with lightning reflexes. If you are going to play the game with fully mechanized infantry, the heavys will probably open from the other side. However, you will need a lot of honey..
ultra_alen Heavy
has crit resistance and a -20 penalty to targeting an enemy against only one nearby target! It is not a fact that this target will shoot at the heavy at all. And any fur can shoot 2 times from a place. For example, a support can be placed out of sight of the enemy (for example, inside a building), while the bonus of the distorting field will extend to the roof of the building. At this time, he can recharge. If you hang a medal of +5 defense on a fighter, you will already get 35 defense in a half shelter.
I liked genetics. For example, the combination of Sniper Major (low silhouette) + mimicking skin = perfect scout) You can "counter" almost any group of aliens without losses, or snatch the squad on the last move right from under the nose of the crowd of chryssalids). In general, one gets the impression that the genetics were purely for a sniper and were molded. Well, the Second Heart is a must-have for any normal person playing with IronMan)
PS: One thing is sad - the appearance of the armor of GMO soldiers. The squad no longer looks like soldiers at all(Is it possible to return the default appearance sets?
Sniper Major (low silhouette) + mimicking skin = perfect scout)
in the second wave I chose the item random skills - so I have a support fighter, with an extended run by three cells and a low silhouette, arranged hidden runs behind enemy lines and for honey. The only random skill I was happy with.
One thing is sad - the appearance of the armor of GMO soldiers
can be changed; shoulders can be changed, they no longer look so stupid, IMHO.
Still not very good. Blah, what the hell pulled them to make such a dull appearance without the possibility of a return. Like, so that you can immediately see where GMOs are, and where not? Rave
It doesn't look bad on T1 yet, but the original suits look better later on. It seems that they just scored on the T2 and T3 versions of the suit ..
If anyone hasn't found it yet - www.nexusmods.com/xcom/mods/411/
Returns the standard gmo armor (old version)
New gmo armor models with sleeves, not standard (new version)
I thought it was just me having these problems.
The original went through the penultimate difficulty twice, and the deaths of the operatives were quite fair. In addition, the pissing lizards from the pistol unfairly one-shot when three soldiers hit it, with a 48% hit rate.
Play better in Xenonauts. There everything is fair and the gameplay is more diverse.
