Launch the pirate with the mod. (XCOM 2)

People.
If you want to play with mods (the same mods Long War), then you need to run the game with file
XCOM 2\Binaries\Win64\Launcher\ModLauncherWPF.exe
But, in order for the game to start with him - or you need to install the game in default folder steam
steam\steamapps\common\xcom 2
Or do a mklink, typing in the command prompt (from administrator, essno)
mklink /d C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\XCOM 2 D:\Games\XCOM 2
Where D:\Games\XCOM 2 is the place where you installed the game, and Steam\steamapps\common\XCOM 2 - a place where you have installed the steam.

I hope this thread will be useful :)
With Respect.

The previous speakers unsubscribed clumsily, and also not by tags, so on the Internet, on the request "how to put mods on a pirate?" or "I don't have a launcher in pirate, how can I activate mods?!" - nothing can be found sane. Especially for those who get drunk, or are still playing, or have just started, a detailed algorithm for activating mods

: Solution found, thanks to "wituswitus" and others.

1. You need to create a Mods folder, the path will be:

XCOM 2XComGameMods - if mods are installed on the original XCOM 2

XCOM 2XCom2-WarOfTheChosenXComGameMods - if mods are installed on War Of The Chosen
Attention! Put in the game directory, not in the Documents folder. The mod itself is a folder with various files. In the Mods folder, you need to insert exactly the folder, and not individual files, of the desired mod, if necessary, after unzipping it.

2. After that, go accordingly in the same place, in the game directory, in the XCOM 2XComGameConfig folder or in XCOM 2XCom2-WarOfTheChosenXComGameConfig

In this folder, open the DefaultModOptions.ini file and add a new line ActiveMods="NoSquadsightPenalties" (in quotation marks the name of the mod), for example, the mod "No Squad sight Penalties WoT" is taken, therefore the name is "NoSquadsightPenalties". !!! The name of the mod that you activate can be found in the Mods folder where you dropped the mod accordingly: we find a file with the .XComMod extension, for me it looks like this NoSquadsightPenalties.XComMod (up to the point the name we are interested in, after the point the file extension).

When first opened, the DefaultModOptions.ini file will look like this:

[Engine.XComModOptions]

or have additional lines:

;Use the below pattern to activate mods (no "+"/"-" etc. operators as this is the base INI file)
; ActiveMods="
;ActiveMods="AnnounceDemo"
;ActiveMods="AvengerAssembled"
;ActiveMods="Squadsize_EU"

We need to add a new line {ActiveMods="NoSquadsightPenalties"} without the semicolon ";" and without a space at the beginning of the line, exactly as shown in the curly brace.

The DefaultModOptions.ini file will look like this:

[Engine.XComModOptions]

;Use the below pattern to activate mods (no "+"/"-" etc. operators as this is the base INI file)
;ActiveMods="TerrorFromTheDerp"
;ActiveMods= "AnnounceDemo"
;ActiveMods="AvengerAssembled"
;ActiveMods="Squadsize_EU"
ActiveMods="LW_Overhaul"

After that save the file, and all. The mod is activated.

A small bonus: for this game, there are a lot more normal mods in Steam itself than even on nexus, not to mention PG. But there on the face! However, there is a small feature: http://steamworkshop.download/ - on this site, in the line, drive in the address/link of the mod you need and found in the Steam store (generally any, not just XCOM. For example: https://steamcommunity. com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1596673682 - this is a mod for hiding civilians) and it gives you a link to download the file of this mod, which can be inserted into a pirate. class, right?

After these steps, after starting the game, you should duplicate the same list of mods in the config, located along the path Users Documents .... (look for the XCOM2 folder and a config with a similar name there) - if there are no such entries in it (when the game was closed) - then duplicate them yourself (copy - paste). Such a problem as you may have due to the fact that you run through a launcher that resets (changes in its own way or just keeps it empty) the config responding in the UsersDocuments folder (I don’t remember the exact path)
