Impressions of the game (Shenmue 2)
Create for the future and for those who played the original version.Passed the Dreamcast version.
From the top right to the bottom. Native close Iacocca changed a great unfriendly Hong Kong. Three discs of the four -- incredibly stupid story, right budget Chinese action. Ryo arrives in Hong Kong to avenge the killer of his father and what does he do? Almost the entire game looking for the old man who advised him to find Master Chen from the first game. The old man, as expected, is always slipping away and in the end somehow, sitting in a dilapidated building on the tenth floor. Along the way you have to go through a shitload of tests are poorly interconnected. Re saying you need 500$ to get -- he's going to earn them, you have to beat three fighters -- going to beat them. If the first part of it can be called just blunt here, he openly demonstrates mental retardation (what else can you expect from a guy who his career after school karate sees). Re costs nothing to spread a dozen of muggers, but one of the guards for him an insurmountable obstacle. The only way to find out information -- to approach and ask, if not answer-to beat and ask again. Well if it happened once or twice, but it lasts the entire game (in General, with dialogue in both games are all bad (I see, Yeah...)). Oh what it would be if he came across good joy in the port at arrival. And very strange that all the Chinese people in the game, even from the provinces, you know Japanese.
Management became worse. The first part was the usual tank control and is completely satisfied, but here when pressing left-right hero does not turn, and starts to go in the specified direction -- is hard to describe, but played noticeably uncomfortable. The fighting became even somborne, but the characters move very much. There are battles from which you cannot emerge victorious, though no apparent reason. Uncomfortable, fast, unfair QTE shoved under the nose at every occasion. The game regularly requires you to grindith money uninteresting work, like in life people do not enough (well at least if you wish, save-load allows you to forget about the problem of money almost immediately).
Shenmue II is one of those games that draws out the ending. The fourth disc is just a fairy tale. At the end of the story finally moving.
Well, the pros:
There is transfer saves from the first part. The Japanese voice acting of place. For the end of 2001, the game still looks great. New mini-games are good, the collection of figurines to collect easier. Hong Kong is so evil that I want to turn the console off.
It is not surprising that to Sega about Shenmue III soon forgotten. To spend $ 50 million to the plot so wide that it could fit in a five-minute video is a waste. And judging by the movie Shenmue Saturn Version, which is opened after the passage, it is quite possible that all that water with the bandits on both sides initially could not be. Shenmue II is a strong, persistent desire to re Yakuza.
Nonetheless waiting for Shenmue III. I understand that it could lead to another Mighty No. 9 or just a mediocre game, but I hope for the best. Still, the series is quite unusual and S III will begin immediately after the S II.
But the reissue definitely will undermine many Asses.
