By earning an extremely large number of played hours in Metro 2033 Redux and Metro Last Light Redux, I came to the following conclusions:
Paragraph (maximally modernized):
++ extremely large magazine
++ highest rate of fire
+ - average accuracy (accuracy and recoil damage )
- long reload time
- heavy weight (low movement speed)
- you can not put a silencer
Conclusion: perfect for fighting hordes of mutants or with a large creature, for fighting people is suitable only in narrow rooms

Killer (max mod.):
+ - small magazine
+ high rate of fire
+ medium-high accuracy (barrel length)
- very long reload time
+ low weight
+ possibility of aimed shooting
+ you can put a silencer
Conclusion: weapons are relatively specific, but flexible in modernization, against mutants it is recommended to use with great care (shoot for sure and gain escape routes due to long reloading) and, preferably, in large spaces, but against fighters it is quite effective in any situation.

Cyclepal is a makeshift six-barreled revolving shotgun made from pipes and bicycle parts. A more exotic counterpart to the Slayer.

+ possibility of aimed shooting
- it is impossible to put a silencer
+ more damage than that of the Slayer
- extremely rare weapon
Conclusion: a worthy weapon in the absence of a more flexible alternative

Doublet (4 barrels):
- 4-round magazine (2 shots)
+ highest rate of fire with a small magazine size (magazine per second)
++ fast reloading
+ - average accuracy
+ - average weight
+ high damage per shot
- doubled ammunition consumption
- it is impossible to put a silencer
+ readily available
Conclusion: a very universal budget gun from everything, but it is recommended to carefully save ammunition

Ashot - who does not remember, a single-shot buckshot pistol from last light ...

+ - medium-low accuracy
+ high damage (more than a shot of one barrel of a doublet)
+ low weight
+ you can put a silencer
+ you can aim shooting
+ easily accessible
Conclusion: an excellent alternative to the unmodified doublet

+ medium-high rate of fire
++ very fast reloading

- a very rare weapon
Conclusion: the most advanced versatile and powerful shotgun in existence

In short, it's hard to say which one is better (apart from Saiga-12), each shotgun has its own tactics.
But my preferences are in ascending order:
1) Doublet (2 barrels) / Ashot
2) Killer / Velopal
3) Doublet (4 barrels)
4) Paragraph
5) Saiga-12

This, if I'm not mistaken, is a 4-barrel modification for a Doublet.
