My IMHO:3rd place - Frr Need for Speed Underground 2
2nd place - GTA 3
1st place - Half-Life 2
Half-life 2 + EP's - the seizure of Land by aliens, the despair, the oppression of people.
Fallout 3 - the atmosphere of the Wild West and retrofuturism (tube computers, TVs, robots)
Portal - the atmosphere of a closed laboratory.
Mass Effect - the atmosphere of socialization among the races.
Mass Effect 2 - the atmosphere of the Terminus systems. Piracy, smuggling.. it Turns out space is not so calm like in ME1

The so-called Wild West in Fallout is a consequence of nuclear war. Just the desert. But not every desert is the Wild West. Must be at least one saloon in at least one canonical town in the Wild West.
1) Killzone 2 if you want to know,buy a PS3 and the game.
2) S. T. A. L. K. E. R - there's a pretty has an atmosphere and it is transmitted as elsewhere,the dull landscapes,distressed and alone.
3) Mass Effect 1 - I think here it is clear,unfortunately part 2 is not so managed.

what do you have against fans of the game from the Stalker? I, for example, after reading a lot of books, too, are imbued with its atmosphere (though... in the books I once more felt it=)) of course I use it for its wild fanaticism for this game, but I think youth would not have made a moderator))

1 and 2, Gothic is something extraordinary... I just couldn't describe what she caught me - just megaera with MeatMaster)
even the atmosphere Bioshoka I really liked. this huge underwater city, very good sound (I just in time for the release of the first part had a very good 5.1 sound system), the music is soulful... and in the second part, I could spend hours looking at this crumbling city outside and the story touched me deeply...
and of course the Mass Effect series... not that there super dynamics or action scenes, but the plot, the characters, the ability to influence them, to see plot changes after decision-making, dialogue and cut-scenes... BUT. there is one game... it probably 7 years already and it's called SW: KotOR, I years 11 was killed just passed on a few times it also was)) and when I sat down for Mass Effect, I immediately remembered it) for the time she was very cool, even now, I think, can compete with some RPG in terms of plot and atmosphere))
