Impressions of the game (Maid of Sker)
The theme for the experience of the game.terrifyingly boring gameplay with the endless imposition of spin-off bypasses. enemies do not play on the atmosphere. key game mechanics turns out to be a ballast pile of endless routine, through which it simply can not plunge into fear, panic or anxiety, because the plot and immersion fade into the background, and the enemies themselves sometimes react gnarly, like a bagged. There are no interesting puzzles in the game either. music is good where it is.
I couldn't get through the repulsive gameplay and just drop the game somewhere in the middle, and then watched the endings on YouTube.
A horror movie from Wales Interactive, inspired by the Welsh legend of the same name.
1897. Musician Thomas Evans arrives at the Hotel Sker, following the call of the heart and the text of a letter from his beloved Elizabeth. Entering the old hotel and talking to Elizabeth on the phone, the hero learns that the girl locked in the attic, and her relatives and local staff are distraught and ready to pounce on any intruder. The key to salvation is finding four cylinders with parts of the song that can bring back the lost mind around you.
Survival in Maid of Sker is built on stealth and silence. Yes, the hero must hold his breath, so that he is not heard snooping around the hotel enemies. Fortunately, their faces are all wrapped in rags and they see nothing. The noise, at the same time, can be affected by a large accumulation of dust or a burning fireplace (the hero can cough). In addition to "survival," the game has a traditional exploration of locations and puzzle solving.
The first 15 minutes of the game expect a enveloping atmosphere and intense horror, but alas, the game is quite talentless, both in terms of "intimidation" and in terms of maintaining the right atmosphere. The player quickly realizes that local enemies are not only blind, but also have a fairly low AI, and in addition - go on the same type of routes in the hotel. As a result, the gameplay from a tense action turns into a boring walk through the locations in search of cherished cylinders. In addition, Maid of Sker too obviously plagiarizes Resident Evil 2, there is even his own "Tyrant" - a huge Uncle Abraham, "living" on one of the floors of the hotel, and always knowing where GG is. However, the escapes from it are no less tedious than "holding your breath" near the next "butler". Even the disadvantages should include the low interactivity of the environment. But as for the local riddles, they are organically woven into the setting - there is nothing to scold.
As a result, Maid of Sker is a rather budgetary and mediocre horror, which does not meet the original expectations.
4/10
Xs as on a PC, but on Juan s it looks awful, the graphics are dull as if the 2003 were at the minimum ... Plus a terrible little bit ... In general, the trash is still the same
