Game Size Updates (Cyberpunk 2077)
The game is on an SSD, but when updating, I noticed that the Steam update is loading on the HDD and the folder takes 40GB +. In the Steam itself, a 1GB update is written, then all this is sooo slowly transferred to the folder with the game. When you try to specify the folder for downloading the update, it does not write enough space, but after clearing 60 gigs, it began to quietly load the update to the ssd and delete it after installation. The question is, I don't understand how updates work, or does Steam really just reload the whole game and put it on top of the old version for me?

partly true. in a shit game and unpacking shit patches. the game's patching system is designed so that any patch, even one that fixes a line of dialogue, will repack all game archives during installation. I almost crap myself when I saw a patch for the first time in my life, which requires 60 GB of free space to install. but I have a 2 TB SSD.
there is nothing to do here on the part of the user.
