Portal 2, Dark Souls, Xenoblade, Skyward Sword, Shogun 2 Total War, Super Mario 3D Land

1) Crysis 2 - maximum wow moments achieved through directing, grafon, music and toolbox mechanics. Plus good multiplayer, albeit with a lot of lags.
2) Batman: AC - the embodiment of a harmonious style in everything, ideally rich in content game, in which everything is fine except for some moments at the end.
3) Deus EX: HR is a chimney sweep simulator, but with a design and some tense moments, well, and a great ending.
4) Gears of War 3 - great mechanics, and many different modes that completely change the game - co-op, difficulty levels, multiplayer (the most balanced this year), horde.
5) LBP2 is cute, funky, infinitely huge thanks to user-generated content.
6) Modern Warfare 3 is essentially not a game, but a whole platform.
7) From Dust - a brilliant creation, which I have not seen analogues since the moment I got hooked on the needle called "consoles"
8) Shadows of the Damned - funny, stylish, crazy.
9) Killzone 3 - incredibly beautiful, finished to the CoD drive, with a great setting and even a touching moment.

Failures of the year:
1) Rage - four years of waiting! FOUR YEARS OF HOPES !!! RAAAAAGE!
2) Alice: Madness Returns - the sequel to my favorite game was not supposed to be a monotonous platformer with two-hour levels. Although the game is very good, it is clearly not what I have been waiting for a dozen years.
3) LA Noire - we did not screw the facial animation to the game, but the game to the facial animation. Like all other elements.
4) Battlefield 3 - after SUCH PR, it will be a bit bold to get a crude curve for $ 50.
