It was funny when, being in one corner of the map (the largest one), I built about 15 towers, pumped them several times for range, rate of fire and strength, and each of them with one powerful continuous beam burned the enemy base at the other end of the map (diagonally ) !!!

You just made me laugh, honestly. I know you are talking about ordinary battles. The peasants are given to deploy the main base, and the hero is "frozen" for a long time. This is as it should be, don't worry.
Then it remains to put patches - they just for this spell reduce the freezing time of the hero, but in no way remove such an effect for good.
