Every Stalker remembers the wonderful Priboi Story mod from Deodor's comrade. Remember the screenshots from 2002, we were then amazed at the work of GSC. The old design, the stunning atmosphere of the desert zone, we could not believe our eyes then. Later, in late 2005 and early 2006, something changed. Evil Dean Sharp, team change or maybe just a burned-out railway? who knows. A complete redesign of all levels was carried out, some of them became much smaller and simpler (quite good, but incomparable with the original ones), and some were completely removed from the game. After the release in 2007, we played this for a long time and a lot and realized that something was wrong, some locations were missing, monsters were cut, the gameplay was changed.

We endlessly discussed this on all forums, sat at computers at night and spent it practically a whole year. Today we can finally say that we have almost a complete picture of all the levels of GSC of that time, piece by piece we collected screenshots, videos, materials and can now restore the game a dream! We decided to completely redo these unforgettable levels, to convey that atmosphere and restore the same old favorite stalker, the game of a dream !, but we will also go further and surpass GSC!

! We are changing the name of our project from "back to the roots" to "lost alpha" in order to preserve the spirit of that time!

1) Will there be dynamic anomalies?
2) Will art spawn be implemented when mutants get into anomalies?
3) Will an almost non-scripted, free Alife be in vogue?

Answers from Deza:
1.anomalies will appear in group like in clear sky (anomaly zones) and it will be hard to get inside, and you will only find artifact inside the anomaly zone. The anomalies disappear after 10-15minutes after the blowout, so you will need to hurry and look for artifacts. It will be hard to find them, but thats more realistic. When the anomalies disappear, you can explore the full map, so no restriction will be.

2. I dont know, what is the connection of mutant and artifact. maybe it was just some test to see if anomaly spawn works or not. we will use the old method as i described in 1. answer.

3. Alife is good question. If we totally unrestrict it, it will be boring, so there will be some restriction, but there will be wandering stalkers like originally planned. They will go to trader, pick up task, and wander, collect items, artifacts, or just go to an other "smart terrain" then later come back.

4. We planned to edit it, but currently we dont have more resource for more levels. We will be happy if we can finish those we first planned. We only have 1 modeler, and 1 level designer (me), so we cant make 100000 maps with this capacity :)

5. Military patrols planned, also helicopter patrols.

4. Whether you will insert new groupings: the Sin, the Clear sky, Renegades?
5. What physics will be in game? In my opinion the best and not braking physics in build 2215.

Small details such as monster anomalies, etc. have been pushed back to the third plan, but something special will surely be done. The translation of the mod addon will most likely be amateur, although information has slipped through that there is a Russian in the Deodor team, but not a fact. As for the indivisible locations, it is unlikely, initially the game is divided into levels, hence the conclusion - not to pull Deodor into indivisibility. What is certain is that there will be no bullet holes on the bodies of NPCs and monsters, as it was in BUILDINGS, because this is written in the game engine, and this has been removed already by 2006.

after deadcity is done, we move to garbage, which is 30% ready, so we will need 1 month to fnish it. Then comes generators, then yantar, and swamp. i almost forgot darkscape, it has terrain, and it will be ready fast. however with current speed, it will be hard to finish it in 2009. so maybe in 2010 if we dont find perfect modelers, who work nice and fast :)

People just say that in build 2215 there are remnants of such scripts, and so on that it's simple. Well, for example.
