Powercolor Red Dragon V2 RX 480 (Thermal Pad Problem)

Good day. I have Powercolor red dragon v2 rx 480 4gb. Does anyone know what size thermal pads are needed? Powercolor support did not give an answer (Now there is no way to measure, since there is almost nothing left of them.

In such cases, plasticine is used to measure the thickness.

I tried 1.5, they are strongly squeezed. There is an option to order 1.12.

Yes, and let it slip. GDDR5 memory is not so hot that it would be up to a nanometer to select the thickness of the gaskets.
You take one and a half thermal pads; roll out a little with a rolling pin; put in memory; smear thermal paste on the GPU; apply cooling; tighten the screws; unwind; you look at a good print on the thermal paste and thermal pads, evaluate whether the contact is good. If it's good, you assemble a video card, play furmark / games for 15 minutes. If everything is good - use it.

I want to buy new good thermal pads. There the size is 1.59 and there is 1.12.

Use plasticine to measure. If the thickness is 1mm or less - take 1.12, if thicker than 1mm, take 1.59 and roll out.
If you take too thin thermal pads, then consider it a minus of time and money.

Thank you for your help)

I have never seen 1.12mm or 1.59mm. I took 0.5/1/1.5 and 2mm.

There were also troubles with thermal pads. I put 0.5mm on memory banks, 2mm on mosfets, 1.5mm on VRMs. I picked up specially soft ones, 60Shor, only thermal conductivity 8 W / Mk. The higher the thermal conductivity, the more heat can be dissipated.

Checked. All parts are 1.25. I think to take 1.5 and not fool around.

There are also 2.5 and 3. There are also graphite 1.2, 1.7, 2.2 and 2.6. And there is 0.2 carbon fiber.
But the author pointed out:

If 1.59 and 1.12 you mean the gaps between the chips and the cool, then 1.5 gaskets will not be enough for you everywhere.

This one will be even better if you can get it:
Spoiler

0.2 I saw in DNS, expensive, but they have very good thermal conductivity

I understand that the author indicated 1.12 and 1.59 thermal conductivity for those gaskets that he wants to buy. And I remained in the rut of discussing their thicknesses. I had to ask him again what kind of numbers he wrote, but I decided, since we are discussing the thickness, then this is the thickness, and why such numbers are strange, well, you never know, maybe the Chinese wrote something from the bulldozer.
And so, that 1.12 W, that 1.59 W is a very low thermal conductivity for gaskets for video memory. Such can only be sculpted between the cooling of the laptop and its case, in order to bring down a couple more degrees in the best case.

🤦‍♂️ And then everything will burn

1.12 and 1.59 thickness. Thermal conductivity 8wmk. I think it will be just right) There is an option to order the size 100*100 or 50*50. Now I think how much is needed to make it enough.

Why are you soaring? Take a liquid thermal pad like K5 Pro.
I smeared it on myself and won even 10 degrees on the chips.

Well, it seems to be used when there is a small distance between cooling.

What is this one? 20cm?
All this paste covers, you smear the layer yourself.
With a thick length and cutting, you can’t worry.
Well, it's not mine, I have all the fire.

Thermal conductivity doesn't matter?

And I won 32C. Got it from Thermal Pad. Thickness and length are of paramount importance.

You need to do everything yourself, and not wait for advice from children. If I was waiting for advice, I would not have conducted my own experiment on vidyakha. Take thermal pads, like I have from Thermal Pad, but take measurements from the old ones! It is important! And you will have the glow of gaming in the shadow of low temperatures)

Take a ruler in your hands, take measurements, buy a Thermo Pad = you get the blessing of heaven's pitch. And if you take the legendary Odyssey, - uhhh) Dream! But they cost a lot of money.
