I liked the Aliens vs. Predator. the setting of Foreign, a familiar weapon, is fairly mundane fantasy elements..
Also the Quake series. loved it for the excellent game design and pure mechanics.
The first Killzone was hooked very interesting conflict.
Gears is my favorite line of TPS.
DooM - luxury series. but I'm not a hardcore fan of the first cartoon-sprite. the atmosphere of the third part and restart much closer.
