I first about robots, too. But learned the hard way remember when gibush robots in farm settlements happiness fell down or was frozen at some point. So it is a good idea.

also decided to check out your idea;
at the Outpost Farm Abernathy (happiness at that time was 92) had a couple of robots without heads and legs (flying), with a couple Rukov, one sent by the supplier, but the selection was small - only one of the outposts, not settlements of farmers, well, sent in the Red rocket in Nuke. The map showed nothing, lines logistics is not, as before. The other was Spud muthafuck.

Happiness fell to 1 (was 91). Then went out and began to observe them in the PIP-boy from the side, doing their own thing. Happiness began to fall and reached 84. Returned to the Fort, took both robots with their work, assigned both to the protection. Got out of there. And in order not to lose time, used the sleep day. Happiness rose to 86, then 88.And it stays that way.
So I think that the raiders took the robot to his family as a family, and we all know that the raiders cannot be forced to care for plants, they will be unhappy. And it seems that the raiders do not like robots :))
