The appearance of the White Wolf in The Witcher 2 (The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings)

To be honest, I didn't like how the Witcher looks. In some moments, for example, when he is dressed in "Duplet Roche" he looks like a zombie, those dark circles under and above his eyes are somewhat reminiscent of a Batman mask, pale skin, pale blue lips. In this form, it can be directly sent to Left 4 Deth "without makeup to shoot." Of course, I understand that Geralt's life is hard, sometimes he saves kings, sometimes he sends all sorts of miracles - Yudo sends him to the other world, once he even died, someone stabbed him with a pitchfork (like a zombie). But still, I would like our hero to be not a pale goner with scars, but a man in "the prime of life", or at least with a healthy complexion.
By the way, in some videos that came out before the release of the game, for example, in "Gambling", Geralt looked younger and prettier,
But everything that is written above is my subjective opinion, and to you, dear friends, I propose to share my own impression of what Geralt looks like in The Witcher 2.
What did you like the most about your appearance and what did you like least? And what do you think the Witcher should look like? Fantasies about Geralt's appearance, including his outfit, are unlimited by some kind of framework, BUT let's agree that Geralt will remain the White Wolf, with his ashen hair.
If someone knows how to draw, it would be great if you depicted Geralt, how he should look in your opinion.

Our view of films, books, and everything in the world is completely subjective. And I hope you agree that one likes, not the fact that the other likes, and vice versa. For you, in the story with The Witcher, Sapkowski's books are the standard, and through the prism of what you read, you evaluate the game, film, series.
And someone may have watched the film, was impressed, and has already moved on to books and games, and the film is the standard, which is also possible.
Everyone has their own way, their own experience and view of things. We can share these, but not impose them on others.

I'm not imposing anything, I didn't even intend to) I'm just trying to explain that in general the impetus for the creation of both the film and the game was precisely Sapkowski's novel. Well, since those guys who made the game and those who made the movie found something in the novel, you will find something too)) I say, read the books, then you will understand that neither the film nor the game can be " standard", since the game is generally a continuation of books, and the film is "based on". Read it and then we'll talk again. BUT I don't need to talk about the ways of development of each, without getting acquainted with what it all started with. Then there will be full right to draw a conclusion!

The appearance of BV is quite peculiar. On the one hand, everything is proportional and beautiful, on the other, it is scary and ugly. I'm not mistaken, like his cat's eyes, which make him more aggressive, they also have a certain charm. The hairstyle is excellent, suitable for him. If you look from the other side, then his body is disfigured by various scars, the scar on the right / left eye disfigures the big picture, the face is narrow, except that the eyes are attractive.

Still, this is a mutant, such is his fate and you can’t run away from it, Geralt has a special, very memorable appearance, like Summer itself. it is not known what Geralt would have been if he had not been the Witcher, maybe handsome, maybe ugly, we will never know.

Agree completely. Nevertheless, in the book, he attracted the attention of women, which is perfectly realized in the game, though not because of his appearance, but according to the conditions of the game itself)) Probably, if Geralt had been made a little prettier without sacrificing masculinity, it would not have become worse

It's like "what came first, the chicken or the egg." Sapkowski's novel is certainly the beginning of everything that happened after the release of the book, and this is an indisputable fact that I hope is known to everyone.
The fact is that for everyone the story of the Witcher begins in its own way, for someone from a book, or from a movie, or a game. And there is nothing wrong with that, and what was the first to be recognized on this list is not so important.
if you find something in the novel, you will find it too)) - I have no doubt that I will find an interesting story, talentedly written :)

Well, there's nothing to talk about! Read first and see if the perception of the game and movie will change or not. And in general, we are discussing the WITCHER'S APPEARANCE here)))

pix.playground.ruThis is how Geralt was in the first videos before the release of the game

I don’t understand why you can be dissatisfied here ... yes, everyone has their own subjective opinion, perception ... but still ... this appearance is good, as for me, it’s very good.

Honestly, it would be better not to touch. Well, they got old in vain! In the first version, he is more alive)). I always could not understand this artist who lifts Geralt's upper lip. Why?? Let's hope that some specialist will make a mod that returns the first option

If he WAS like that in the first videos, then the image has already, roughly speaking, been approved. Why do we see something completely different in the game?

Isn't there a rejuvenated Geralt among those mods to which I gave links?

If there is exactly such a mod that makes Geralt, as in the left picture, tell me where it is. I'll be very thankful!

And I understood :)
Sometimes, when Geral kills all kinds of creatures, he says phrases.
One of them - "I have become old for this!"
Well, it would not be solid if Geralt was young, periodically saying this phrase :))

About a year ago when I bought "Gambling" and there were screenshots and diaries of developers on the disks, where Geralt looked exactly like in the picture above, and for me there was a resonance (my childish psyche could not stand it and I created this topic :) )) when I started playing and saw Geralt the way you all saw him in the game.
Why do we see something completely different in the game, it means that the image was not approved, and in the end we see what we see :)
Of course, I like the early Geralt much more, well, why, why, why? he was not left like this in the game

In your links, I did not find a mod, specifically for improving appearance, there is mainly for changing hairstyles, hair color, adding scars.
If you suddenly find a mod that will help make changes for the better, then pliz post it here))

The answer is simple and obvious - Geralt's age. In the picture, the face is compressed, but in the original it is stretched up and down, Geralt, unlike this picture in the game, is actually much whiter, Geralt does not have scars on the left eye in the right picture in the original, the hairstyle is the same. The wrinkles are clearly smaller.

Perhaps they themselves did not like the "original" Geralt, if it can be called that, of course, and they decide to make big cosmetic corrections, to polish Geralt, so to speak, so that he comes into the world and the whole world sees his witcher beauty. The only moment that they clearly missed - this is the width of the face (the head itself), when you go to the "Glossary", select information about Geralt, then if you look closely enough, you can see the "narrowness" of the face, they obviously went too far with it, or it's just a mistake with the photo in the "Glossary".

After all, Geralt turned out great in the game, so you can not worry about his appearance, but just talk about the "old" versions.

I see here they have not calmed down about appearance. Let everyone see Gerald the way he wants :) The rest doesn't matter...

Nostalgia kicked in?

Nostalgia rolled in?
It’s not just nostalgia, it’s just that time doesn’t spare him, like developers, witchers, like people, get old. But still, as I heard, they live a long time, so everything should be ok with him. I just worry like for a living person. :D

And what's wrong with nostalgia, you just remember the old days. Ahem... I've gone a little off topic, I apologize.
