A few questions about the game from a beginner (Dark Souls)

Hello. Started playing Dark Souls with two friends. One took the knight, the other the thief. I took a cleric to heal my teammates. Is there a spell to heal other players in the game? If not, what is the best class to take? Probably need someone with a ranged attack.
Second question. To call friends to your world, you need a call chalk. Can you send a screenshot and a description of the place where you can find the knight Soler, from whom you can get a chalk for a call?

Well, if time permits, why not?) Moreover, there are 11 sections in total, everything is written very simply and intelligibly, you don’t have to strain the gray cells especially).

Tried all the options, it still slows down.

Now I went to the Catacombs, but there are a lot of skeletons that are reborn after death. How to kill them?

Heavenly weapons needed. In the forest you will kill the moonlight butterfly and after it you will take the heavenly coal. There are two other celestial weapons in the game that can be picked up before going to the catacombs: the Astor Sword (under the Zombie Dragon in the Dragon Valley) and the Spear of the Silver Knights.
Another style of traversing the catacombs is to break the skeletons and rush forward to kill the necromancer who raises them. I recommend taking a bow - with its help you can kill three out of 6 necromancers at a distance without worrying about respawning skeletons. After the death of a necromancer, the skeletons are laid to rest with any weapon.

Then I will wait for the appearance of heavenly weapons.

If I hit a useful character, will Alt+F4 help to avoid saving? Or are there other ways?

Yes and no. No - if the autosave works, and it works quite often. In DSfix.ini, it is possible to enable the rollback of saves, the number of saves to rollback (5 by default) and the time after which they should be rolled back. If you didn’t turn it on right away and a friendly NPC began to want your blood, run to the priest, where the gargoyle was beaten and repent (repentance is not free of course).

Why wait? Get coal, give it to Andre, and you can turn any sword into a heavenly one. Green titanite needs a dozen fragments.

Didn't know that.
Asmoon
Where are backup saves stored?

Are there any characters in the game that are worth killing so that they do not do bad things? Example: Lautrec of Karim will kill Anastasia the Flame Keeper.

X
Xmax1234 11.05.22

TheBlacX
do not kill anyone until the very end of the game, even Lautrec, almost every character has a quest at the end of which they will become empty and killing them will not be a sin.
If you're interested, I'll elaborate.

You can tell, if not difficult.

Need to replace the first file with the second to roll back to an earlier time?

Rhea of Thorolund is a princess and the youngest daughter of a respected noble house in Thorolund.

Storyline

Rey, accompanied by his high school friends and now bodyguards Vince and Niko, arrives in Lordran on a mission from the Order of the White Path to retrieve the stolen rite of Ignite.

First Encounter

In the Fire Temple, Rhea can be seen at the stairs to the elevator leading to the Undead County Church. She is on her knees, praying. If you talk to her, the girl will report that she and her companions are on an important mission, and will notice that the player also, no doubt, has a lot to do.

The Clerics will soon leave to complete their mission if the player has spoken to all four or killed Whirlwind in the Catacombs.

Second meeting

The next meeting will take place in the Tomb of the Giants, Rhea will be downstairs, not far from Patchwork, answer no to all questions, which will kindly help the player quickly get to her. Not far from Rhea, Niko and Vince, who have turned into hollows, roam. If the player kills them, Rhea will thank the protagonist for freeing her friends, and will give a miracle of regeneration as a reward. You need to carefully deal with the enemies so that Rhea is not hurt during the fight. After the Grave Lord is defeated, Rhea will appear at the Church of the Undead County, where she will gladly share her knowledge of miracles.

Third meeting

If you buy all the items from Rhea, then she will go to the Duke's Archives, where she will probably fall into a trap, and then to the Archives dungeon. Unfortunately, there she will become devastated and will have to be killed. Her body will drop a talisman and approximately 7 humanity.

If not bought, then soon she will be killed by Petrus, who was probably assigned to her to monitor the success of her mission to find ignition. Perhaps the failure of her mission is the reason for the murder, but Petrus does not admit that it was he who killed Rhea.

For the appearance of Rhea and her bodyguards, it is necessary to defeat the demon Capra or ring one of the bells of Awakening.
If Petrus is killed before Rhea, Vince, and Nico arrive, they will appear and be hostile to the player when they return to Firelink Shrine.

Shiva of the East is the captain of the Forest Hunter Brigade. Shiva can only be encountered by joining the Forest Hunters covenant.

Backstory

Shiva came to Lordran from the East. He collects various curiosities and trades with other Forest Hunters.

Shiva first appears when the player joins the covenant. He stands near the ruins where Alvina sits and warmly welcomes the new member of the white cat family, and after briefly describing the rules of the Forest Hunters, wishes him a successful hunt.

After it can be found near the wooden wheel in the swamps of the Plague City. Surprised that the Forest Hunter wandered so far from the Darkroot Garden, Shiva will offer to buy something from his collection of weapons, since they met in such a strange place.

In addition, Shiva is never alone - next to him, in the shadows, his bodyguard is hiding, who has a very valuable ring.

Cut content

Shiva's story was more bloody and explained why Shiva himself ended up in the Plague City. He has been looking for the legendary Blade of Chaos for many years, and when he sees it in the hands of the player, he will say that he would very much like to possess it. Regardless of whether you give him the sword or not, he attacks the player. Shiva will drop his shield and Murokumo sword, and some humanity.

Siegmyer of Katarina is a cheerful and good-natured knight from Katarina, who arrived in Lordran on the call of adventure. Tends to fall asleep in all sorts of situations. If desired, the player, by fulfilling the requests of the knight, can lead him through a very long storyline, during which you can get unique rewards.

Storyline
First Encounter

Siegmyer can be seen for the first time near the closed gates of the fortress of Sen, the knight is waiting for them to finally open, and waits for quite a long time. This is an optional meeting. After talking with Sigmaier near the fortress, it is not necessary to look for him later in the fortress itself. He will move on to the second encounter phase when the two Awakening Bells are rung.

Second

When the passage to Sen's Fortress opens, the knight will disappear from his former "roost". When you first encounter a boulder that is rolling down the slope, follow it and turn left to a cliff, there will be a narrow path leading to a dead end (by the way, there are 2 snakes here). He sits on the edge of a cliff and thinks about how he can solve the problem with this same boulder. After you turn the lever that guides the boulders, the knight disappears.

Third meeting

At Anor Londo Castle. There are 4 floors: 1, 3 and one between them, adjacent - 2 (you can get into the short one by jumping down the stairs to it). From the second you can get to the roof - the last door on the left. Opposite (the last door on the right) is Siegmyer, but this room is closed. The path to it lies through the roof. There are 3 exits on the roof - you will exit from one, to the right of you - the path to the knight's room. Before you talk to him, kill 3 Silver Knights (and open the door), for killing which Siegmyer will thank you by presenting the Ring of a tiny creature and saying that next time it would be good to follow his plan. From the third entrance on the roof you get to the 4th floor, from which there is an exit to the main entrance of the Castle. After talking with him, he will be gone again...

The fourth meeting

In the Temple of Fire, near the fire. He thanks you for your help and asks if it's your job to open the gates of Sen's Fortress?! If you answer "Yes" - he will give you the Force Wave miracle. If you talk to him again, he will warn that "he will soon go down, because there are no adventures on the top"...

Fifth meeting

The fifth meeting will take place in the Plague City, the knight will stand to the right of the entrance to the Cavity ). talk to him and he will ask you for 3 pieces of purple moss (since he ran out). Give now or later. In return, he will give you his Piercing Shield.

He will move on to the next phase once you rescue his daughter Sieglinde from the Golden Golem in the Duke's Archives.

Sixth meeting

Before you go to this meeting with Sigmaer, talk to his daughter in the Temple of Fire, she will be standing near the fire. Say yes, you saw her father.

Forgotten Izalith. After starting a dialogue with Sigmar, he will say that he owes you and will try to delay the Chaos Eaters, after that, he will jump down to the monsters. Here he is likely to die if he is not helped. Eaters of Chaos, a dangerous enemy capable of grabbing and grinding you, harassing and hitting, in addition, there is water where you can’t maneuver without a special ring. The following events directly depend on this battle.

For the seventh meeting to take place, Siegmyer must not only survive, but also not lose more than 50% of his lives. To do this, shoot from the bow / spells of all the monsters below, except for one. Then talk to him and finish off the last one.
If you kill all the Eaters before you talk to Siegmyer, he will give the player a Motley Ring with a stone and you can say goodbye to him, the story is interrupted.

If the "bulb man" dies in battle, there will be some amount of Humanity and a Motley ring on his corpse, but that's it, the storyline will be interrupted.

The story will similarly not continue even if he survives, but with less than 50% HP. However, in this case, you will receive a ring, as if it were a sign of a failed storyline.

Seventh meeting

Talk to Siglinda again in the Firelink Shrine, she will say that she saw her father and he again went on an adventure. Next, go to the Ash Lake, to the first fire from the Hollow. They will both be there. After a short dialogue, Sieglinda will give us a gift - a piece of titanite, a very nice thing to forge.

Equipment

The first thing that catches your eye when meeting with Siegmyer is his armor. The Catharine armor set can be bought from the Dejected Merchant in Sen's Keep.
The Knight uses the Two-Handed Sword, which can be found in the Firelink Shrine Graveyard near the very beginning of the game.
Siegmier gives and uses the Piercing Shield itself.
Judging by the dying effects in Forgotten Izalith, Sigmeyer uses either a Redstone Ring or a Bluestone Ring.
The second ring of Siegmyer is a Motley Ring with a Stone, it can be obtained by failing the knight's quest (or simply killing him).

Notes

Siegmeier and Sieglinda, residents of Katarina, look like Europeans behind the layer of armor (use binoculars). At the same time, when creating a character, the inhabitants of Katarina are black.
If you accidentally kill Sieglinda in the Archives, the storyline will not continue, Siegmyer will fall asleep forever (constant snoring in the dialogue).
Siegmeyer sometimes doesn't want to jump into the Chaos Eater pit, kick him.

Soler of Astora is a knight in the Warriors of Light covenant. A friendly guy who can come to the aid of the player more than once as a golden phantom.

Soler's storyline

never loses heart, even if luck turns its back on him. According to him, he voluntarily became undead in order to find his own sun in Lordran.
The first meeting

Acquaintance with the knight takes place on the balcony of the Undead City, not far from the bridge with the red wyvern, where Soler admires the sun's rays. If you talk to him and agree to help each other, he will give the player a piece of chalk.
Second meeting

Takes place in Anor Londo, by the fire on the first floor of the cathedral, where Guinevere the Princess of Light is located. Soler will tell the protagonist to feel free to summon him if he sees his glowing inscription.
Third encounter

After Anor Londo, the knight can be found at the Altar of Light. This encounter is optional for the rest of the Soler storyline, but is required if you wish the Knight's Mark to appear before the fog to the Centipede Demon. Soler will also offer to join the Warriors of Light covenant if the player meets the requirements.
Fourth Encounter

The Decisive Encounter takes place in the Demon Ruins and Forgotten Izalith. Soler will appear near the fire after the Demon-Hundred and will be saddened that he has not found his light. Action options:

We go further into the Forgotten Izalith, we will meet Soler before the fog to the Lodge of Chaos, he will be devastated and attack us.
We enter the Servant of Chaos covenant, raise the rank to +2. The Slice to Forgotten Izalith, which can only be activated from the side of the Titanite Demon, can now be opened. We kill all the Chaos Bugs (there are 9 of them), and we take the Larva of Light from the red-eyed beetle. We leave the location and return, Soler will sit in the company of Chaos Bugs and lament that he did not find what he was looking for. However, it did not become hollow and can now be challenged to fight Gwyn.
If you enter through the cut into the Forgotten Izalith without touching the Chaos Bugs, or kill half, but leave a few alive, Soler will appear there near the bugs, equipped with the Larvae of Light. Unfortunately, the knight went mad and became hollow.

Notes

Solera can be summoned to fight the Gargoyles of the Bell, the Open Dragon, Ornstein and Smough, the Hundredfoot Demon and is the only Phantom NPC that can be summoned to fight the final boss. For players playing offline, such a character will be very useful.
The easiest way to save Soler is not to talk to him in Undead City or Anor Londo.
There is a theory that Soler is the very firstborn of Gwyn - he admires the sun, calls him a majestic father and is in a covenant founded by the eldest son of the Ash Lord.
In the game Borderlands 2 there is a reference to the game Dark Souls. In one of the locations, the ghost of a man named Solitaire sits by the fire.

Lautrec of Carim is a knight who arrived in Lordran from Carim. For unknown reasons, locked in a cell in Undead County.

Storyline

Lautrec's motives are unclear. All that is known about him is that he is from Karim, and went on a pilgrimage in the name of love for the goddess Fina. It is not known who locked him in the County cell, and even more so, why he ended up there.

After being freed by the player, the knight gives a solar medal, and can help in the battle with the Guardians of the Bell and the Open Dragon. Lautrec will go to the Firelink Shrine after being released. It can be found opposite the cage with Anastasia. He will also tell the player about Petrus for a small fee (1,000 souls). Lautrec will kill Anastasia when the player collects three souls of the Fire Keepers (in Plague City, Undead County, and New Londo Ruins) and disappear. Also, if the player decides not to let him out, he will be released on his own, regardless of whether the player took the key to his cell or not. After Lautrec kills Anastasia, his plot develops in the standard way. It is not known why he does this, perhaps he is just an insane killer. Or he hunts for the valuable souls of the Keepers of Fire and humanity in order to offer them to his goddess Fina.

The world of Lautrec can be invaded using the Black Eye, which can be taken from Anastasia's body. The invasion can be carried out in the hall of Anor Londo, before the fight with Ornstein the Dragonslayer and Executioner Smough. After killing him, the player receives the Ring of Protection and Support and the soul of Anastasia. If you kill him earlier, then the amount of humanity received will be much less.

Notes

His breastplate depicts the arms of a goddess holding him tightly. But some players think it's more like a straitjacket.
Can be summoned as a phantom to fight bell gargoyles and the Open Dragon.
His armor can be taken in the hall on the second floor, after his death, where the battle with Ornstein and Smough took place.
You invade it in the form of the Blue Phantom of Vengeance, even if you are not a member of the Blades of the Darkmoon, and for the victory you will receive the Mark of Vengeance.
His Ring of Protection and Support will be obtained by killing him anywhere. But, if not killed in Anor Londo, then his set will not receive.

Lawrence of the Great Swamp is a pyromancer expelled from his homeland due to the curse of the undead.

Storyline

Lawrence is planted in a barrel in the Depths, not far from the butchers. You need to go down to the flooded level with the dogs and go to the scree on the opposite side of the wooden steps. Then go down the corridor and find the poor fellow. Apparently, it was supposed to be a dinner for cannibal butchers. By carefully breaking the barrels (preferably by rolling), the chosen undead will free the prisoner. After recovering, Lavrenty will go to the Temple of Fire, there, in gratitude for the salvation, he will offer to train the hero of pyromancy and give a pyromancy glove (if not), which he can improve to +15.

If the protagonist has Greater Chaos Fireball or Quilana's upgraded Pyromancy Gauntlet, they will be interested and ask where it was found. If the player tells, then Lavrenty will go in search of the Plague City, after which he can be found in the form of a hollow. If you do not tell, he will remain in the Temple of Fire, alive and well.

Logan Big Hat = - a wizard who is easily recognizable by his signature Big Hat.

Location

The great wizard meets several times during the game and almost always requires our help. For the first time we will meet him in the Sen Fortress. To do this, with the help of a lever, you need to direct the stone ball towards the snake sleeping near the wall. The ball will break through the wall and you can get to the cages where Logan is locked. Before you go to save him, point the ball in the other direction and the keeper with either the Lockpick or the Cage Key. When you open the cage and talk to him, head to Firelink Shrine, where he will sit next to Griggs. He agrees to trade spells if the hero's intelligence is more than 15. As you progress through the main plot (specifically, the hero's trip to the Duke's Archives), Logan will leave, but the spells that he offered can be bought from Griggs from Vinheim (even if you bought them before from Logan, thus you can duplicate the ones you need).

The second time he will meet in the prison of the Duke's Archives, where the hero ends up after the first encounter with Sith. He is locked up again (bad luck to him) and guarded by a bunch of Medusa. This time, the door cannot be opened with a master key, you will need a special key that we will remove from Mimic, in a secret room with a bunch of chests, near the fire closest to the Crystal Grotto.

After being released, he will sit in the same room where the mimic with the key was, but closer and to the left. His range of spells will expand, and the player will be able to buy some of the most powerful spells in the game from him.

As you purchase spells, as well as the death of Sith, you may notice that Logan began to speak a little incoherently. The madness that slew the traitor dragon seems to have passed to the great wizard as well. Logan will finally go crazy when you buy all of his spells.

Mad Logan will be in the room where you first encountered Sith, he will be practically naked. He will invariably wear his large hat, as well as a powerful staff. After killing him, you will be able to pick up both of these items, and the rest of his set will be in the chest, in the place where he sat before.

Notes

Logan was a famous wizard hailing from the Vinheim School of the Dragon. According to the Dejected Trader, Logan tried to sneak through Anor Londo, presumably to gain access to the duke's archives and thus gain the knowledge of the Sith, but was caught.

Griggs of Vinheim is a quiet, unassuming wizard. He is a student of Logan Big Hat.

Location

Locked in a room at the bottom of Undead City, in the alleyway before the fight with Demon Capra. He searched for his teacher, but could not find it. When you get to his door, he will call for help. The door can be opened with the Dwelling Key, which is sold by the Undead Merchant.

After you save him, he will thank you and offer to buy spells or items from him when he comes to Firelink Shrine, where he stands behind the wall near the well.

If you save Logan, he will meet his apprentice at Firelink Shrine. But Logan will soon leave Griggs, as well as his spell books, which can now be bought from him. And when you buy all of his items and spells, he will go in search of his teacher, Logan. He will be doomed to death in achieving his mission and will end up in the Sen Fortress, only in the form of a hollow.

Notes

He will not sell you spells and items until you have at least 10 points of Intelligence.
He will only sell additional spells that Logan had after you save Logan and he leaves. This will allow you to get two copies of some spells in one playthrough.
The Dark Hand can steal 3 humanity from Griggs.

Wonderful Chester is a DLC character "Artorias of the Abyss" in the game Dark Souls.

Chester heard the legend of Artorias, so he is also from the future, perhaps more distant than our hero. They are both courteous, but treacherously hit when you don't expect it.

Chester's location

Oswald of Carim - Also known as the Pardoner. Servant of the goddess Velka.

Background

A cleric who serves Velka, and therefore has the right to break agreements with the covenants, can calm characters you attacked but not killed, forgive sins, and sell some probably sacred goods for the servants of Velka for souls, like all merchants. Despite Lordran's advanced years and despondency, when talking, he gives the impression of a cheerful and contented person: he often jokes and laughs. In dialogues, the player reacts differently, depending on humanity and the number of sins. He can also make sarcastic comments when you buy some things from him.

If you attack Oswald, he will take up arms in two hands and begin to defend himself, and if he loses half his health points, he will use the Healing miracle. After the victory, the player will receive two humanity and, in fact, will not be able to lose the status of a sinner until the end of the game, since he is the only one who forgives sins.
