Overall disappointed because the book was a brick. Of course the professionalism of the writer there are no issues. Written efficiently and competently. But the plot, the idea of the novel - not at all interesting, I'd say neutral-bad. A couple of words. We have a small provincial English town of Pigford, where live ordinary people who know one another. The town is so dull that any event will become news No. 1 and discussed all day long. Dies suddenly a member of the local Council and then it began. Rowling describes the lives of several ordinary families and individuals living in the town. Long uninteresting empty dialogues discuss a person's death and the resulting the casual vacancy in the Council, the conversations are just stupid about the everyday Affairs of adolescents and their parents, wives and husbands, school children and students, friends and friends...(imagine like you are talking in your family, quarrel, etc., and it's all reproduced on the pages). Long uninteresting stories about the history of the town... All long and slow. Only at the very end of the novel a couple of pages inflames at least some sort of dynamics, drama and action. In the end, having read the book, understand that most spitting information nafig not needed, but if you cut it, there is only the mundane uninteresting lives of ordinary people. Read at your own risk. I personally do not recommend.
